Canarias convoca 320.477 euros en ayudas a la producción local de huevos

The Government of the Canary Islands has announced, for the 2026 campaign, the grants for Action III.11 “Aid for the local production of hen eggs” of the Community Support Program for Agricultural Productions of the Canary Islands (POSEI), endowed with 320,477 euros from the European Agricultural Guarantee Fund (EAGF). The call is formalized through the Order of October 19, 2026, of the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries and Food Sovereignty, the extract of which is published in the Official Gazette of the Canary Islands No. 216, of October 28, 2026 (reference 3717, page 38958). The period for submitting applications will be open from January 15 to 31, 2027, both inclusive.

The framework: POSEI and the 2017 regulatory bases

The call is based on the regulatory bases approved by the Order of November 28, 2017, of the former Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries and Water, published in the BOC No. 233, of December 4, 2017, which regulates the granting of subsidies for the measures that make up the POSEI. The program seeks to ensure that egg production for the Canary Islands is developed under the same conditions as in any other European region, so that the aid helps alleviate the costs derived from the archipelago’s ultra-peripherality.

The extract is published in accordance with articles 17.3.b) and 20.8.a) of the General Subsidies Law 38/2003, of November 17, and refers to the full text available in the National Subsidy Database, with identifier BDNS 936401.

Who can apply for the aid

The following may apply for the call:

  • Individual producers who produce and market hen eggs in the Canary Islands.
  • Producers grouped in a Producer Group or Organization that meet the same condition.
  • In both cases, they must prove the requirements and admissibility conditions demanded in the third resolution of the call order.

Amount: 0.08 euros per dozen and a 10% supplement

The program’s financial sheet assigns a total of 320,477.00 euros to this action charged to the EAGF. The unit amount is set at 0.08 euros per dozen hen eggs of category NC04070030 produced and marketed in the islands.

Additionally, a supplement equivalent to 10% of the amounts corresponding to beneficiaries who have received aid for the installation of young farmers from the Rural Development Program will be paid, whether it be Sub-measure 6.1 of the RDP 2014-2020 or Intervention 6961.1 of the CAP Strategic Plan (PEPAC) 2023-2027, in the current campaign or in any of the four previous ones, provided they maintain said status in the campaign subject to the call.

Mandatory electronic submission

Applications shall be submitted exclusively by electronic means, through the electronic office of the Public Administration of the Autonomous Community of the Canary Islands (sede.gobiernodecanarias.org/sede/), in accordance with the standardized model available at the same office. The order is signed in the Canary Islands on October 19, 2026, by the Minister of Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries, and Food Sovereignty, Alejandro Narvay Quintero Castañeda.

The call arrives with a calendar that moves the application to the beginning of 2027, such that the poultry farms of the archipelago have a window of 17 calendar days to formalize the request for aid that compensates for structural overcosts of insular supply. The Canarian poultry sector, largely dependent on imported feed, finds in this POSEI line direct support for production prices and the continuity of activity in the islands.
