Canary Islands extends the deadline for ADHD student grants by five days

The Department of Education, Vocational Training, Physical Activity and Sports of the Government of the Canary Islands has extended by five business days the deadline for submitting applications for grants for the 2025-2026 academic year intended for students in non-university public educational centers with specific educational support needs associated with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), with or without hyperactivity. The extension is published via an extract of the Order of September 8, 2026, collected in the Official Gazette of the Canary Islands number 184, dated September 14, 2026.

The new deadline for completion is set for September 17, 2026, inclusive. The measure directly affects families of students with ADHD who do not have a recognized disability status equal to or greater than 25%.

Framework of the Call

The grants were announced through Order No. 756/2026, of July 15, via a non-competitive concurrence procedure. The extract is published in accordance with the provisions of articles 17.3.b) and 20.8.a) of the General Subsidies Law 38/2003, of November 17.

With the approved extension, the application submission period remains open until September 17, 2026, inclusive. The extension order was signed in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria on September 8, 2026, by the Minister of Education, Hipólito Alejandro Suárez Nuez.

The extension of the deadline responds to the need to provide families with more leeway to formalize their applications, preventing them from being excluded from the procedure for scheduling reasons.
