Canarias amplía 240.000 euros las subvenciones a pymes de islas no capitalinas

The General Directorate for Economic Promotion and Diversification of the Government of the Canary Islands has increased by 240,000 euros the credits for the call for grants for the internationalization of SMEs in the non-capital islands for the 2026 fiscal year. The measure, signed on September 29 by the general director Manuel Alexis Oliva Hernández, is published in the Official Gazette of the Canary Islands (Boletín Oficial de Canarias) no. 203, dated October 9, 2026. With this increase, the budgetary allocation for the call amounts to 640,000 euros.

The agreement is formalized through the extract of the Resolution of September 29, 2026, which modifies the distribution of the assigned credits and expands them relative to the call approved by the Resolution of January 16, 2026, from the same management center. The procedure is processed under a competitive bidding regime and is registered in the National Grants Database with the identifier 882343.

The publication is carried out under articles 17.3.b) and 20.8.a) of the General Grants Law 38/2003, of November 17, and the full text of the call can be consulted in the National Grants Database. The program is aimed at Canarian small and medium-sized enterprises with internationalization plans whose activity is located in the non-capital islands.

New distribution by island

The resolution establishes the following distribution of the allocated credits:

  • Lanzarote: 152,000.00 euros.
  • La Gomera: 26,325.00 euros.
  • El Hierro: 25,875.00 euros.
  • La Palma: 92,000.00 euros.
  • Fuerteventura: 120,000.00 euros.

The remaining credit from the items corresponding to La Gomera and El Hierro, amounting to 11,800.00 euros, will be distributed among the different non-capital islands based on the date and time the grant applications were completed.

Expansion charged to three projects

The increase in the initial budgetary credit is structured through the budgetary application 1514.433C.470.02 and three investment projects:

  • 136,724.91 euros for project 154G1083, “Internationalization of companies Lanzarote”.
  • 83,973.84 euros for project 154G1086, “Internationalization of companies La Palma”.
  • 19,301.25 euros for project 154G1087, “Internationalization of companies Fuerteventura”.

The three contributions total 240,000 euros and raise the budgetary allocation of the call to 640,000.00 euros.

No new application period

The agreement specifies that no new application period will be opened. Interested companies must, therefore, adhere to the procedures already closed in the initial call of January 2026.

The expansion reinforces public support for the internationalization of the business fabric of Lanzarote, La Gomera, El Hierro, La Palma, and Fuerteventura, islands that face higher costs of access to foreign markets due to their status as non-capital islands.
