Canals d'Urgell: the General Assembly will ratify the tender for sector B10

The General Community of Irrigators of the Urgell Canals will submit to its ordinary General Assembly the ratification of the Governing Board’s agreement to request the publication of the tender announcement for the works of the modernization project of sector B10. The decision will be adopted in the session convened for Sunday, October 25, 2026, in Mollerussa, and the notice is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Lleida no. 195, of October 13, 2026 (edict 8447, CVE BOP-2026_0_195_8447, p. 1-1).

The notice is signed by the president of the Community, Amadeu Ros Farré, dated October 8, 2026, in Mollerussa. The meeting will take place at the registered office of the entity, at Jaume I Avenue, no. 1, Mollerussa, at 10:30 a.m. on the first call and half an hour later on the second, if representatives of the absolute majority of hectares do not attend to hold it on the first.

A session with eleven items on the agenda

The General Assembly is the body that brings together the representation of the entire canal usage. The notice summons:

• The members of the Governing Board of the General Community.
• The members of the Irrigation Jury.
• The Governing Boards of the 21 Irrigators’ Collectivities.

The agenda consists of eleven items, beginning with the appointment of scrutineers to approve the minutes of the session and the reading and approval, if applicable, of the minutes of the ordinary session of March 8, 2026.

The Works Plan and the 2027 budget

The economic core of the session focuses on the coming fiscal year. The third and fourth items of the agenda provide for the examination and approval, if applicable, of the 2027 Works Plan and the ordinary income and expenditure budget of the General Community for 2027, with the determination of the deadlines and fractions for the payment of levies.

The fifth item addresses the settlements for the registration and deregistration of usage for the year 2027. Additionally, the Board must rule on the request submitted by the Segarra County Council for an exemption or, if applicable, a reduction of the deregistration settlement.

Other agreements: irrigation campaign and Electoral Board

The session also includes the irrigation campaign and the constitution of the entity’s Electoral Board, a preliminary step to the processes of renewing positions. The ninth item, dedicated to the tender for sector B10, specifies that the ratification is made without prejudice to the mandatory assembly agreement for the execution of this project, such that the tender must be completed with a subsequent approval by the General Assembly itself.

The meeting will close with the Presidency reports and an open floor for comments.

Impact for irrigators

The agreement directly affects the irrigators of the 21 collectives that make up the Canals d’Urgell, who will see their contributions fixed for 2027 and, at the same time, the start of the tender for a modernization project of the irrigation system in sector B10. The publication in the BOP of Lleida opens the formal call period and establishes the framework in which the works and the entity’s finances for the next fiscal year will be decided.
