Canal de Isabel II tenders sanitation works for 259 million in five lots

Canal de Isabel II, S. A., M. P. has announced the call for tenders, via open procedure, for the improvement works of the sanitation networks it manages, within the so-called Plan Sanea 2. The announcement, signed on August 10, 2026, is published in the Official Gazette of the Community of Madrid number 196, dated August 18, 2026, under file number 89-2026.

The tender, processed by the Ministry of Environment, Agriculture and Interior, provides for a base tender budget of 259,206,577.74 euros (VAT included), with a net amount of 214,220,312.18 euros and a 21% VAT of 44,986,265.56 euros. The contract, categorized as works, has an execution period of sixty months and will be carried out in Madrid (NUTS code ES300), with CPV code 45232400-6.

Five lots and budget by zones

The contract is divided into five lots, each with its own base tender budget:

• Lot 1: 65,905,117.73 euros.
• Lot 2: 49,045,600.84 euros.
• Lot 3: 48,784,784.96 euros.
• Lot 4: 48,749,498.17 euros.
• Lot 5: 46,721,576.04 euros.

The processing is ordinary and the award will be made based on a plurality of criteria. The required final guarantee will be 5 per 100 of the award amount of the corresponding lot.

Deadlines and submission of bids

Interested companies may submit their bids until October 9, 2026, at 11:59 PM, exclusively through the Electronic Tendering Platform of the Community of Madrid. The opening of the economic proposals and the quantifiable technical criteria will take place on October 27, 2026, at 9:30 AM, without a public act, in accordance with article 157.4 of the LCSP.

The documentation and specifications can be obtained at the public contracts internet address of the Community of Madrid. Bids must be written in Spanish, and non-Spanish companies from European Union member states that are not registered in Spain must comply with the provisions of clauses 5 and 11.7 of chapter II of the Particular Administrative Clauses Specifications.

The improvement of the sanitation networks managed by Canal de Isabel II will have a direct impact on the quality of the purification service and the resilience of the hydraulic infrastructures of the Community of Madrid, benefiting the municipalities supplied by the public company.
