Canal de Isabel II calls for maintenance of green areas in zone G

Canal de Isabel II, S. A., M. P. has called for tenders via an open procedure for the maintenance and improvement services contract for existing green areas in zone G, with a base tender budget of 438,433.80 euros, VAT included. The announcement, dated October 6, 2026, is published in the Official Gazette of the Community of Madrid number 246, corresponding to Thursday, October 15, 2026, under reference BOCM-20261015-42. Interested companies may submit their bids until November 5, 2026.

Object and scope of the contract

The contract, processed as ordinary and awarded through an open procedure with a plurality of criteria, aims to provide maintenance and improvement services for the green areas of zone G of the Madrid public company. This is a service contract without division into lots, which will be executed in Madrid (NUTS code ES300) and whose file number is 131-2026.

The CPV codes identifying the service are 77310000-6 (green area maintenance services) and 77311000-3 (garden and park maintenance services). The planned execution period is one year, with the possibility of an eight-month extension.

Budget, guarantees, and solvency

The economic figures of the tender are as follows:

• Estimated value of the contract: 603,903.30 euros, VAT excluded.
• Net amount of the base budget: 362,341.98 euros.
• VAT (21%): 76,091.82 euros.
• Total amount: 438,433.80 euros.
• Final guarantee: 5 per 100 of the award amount.

Regarding the contractor requirements, economic solvency and technical solvency must be accredited in accordance with the provisions of section 5 of Annex I of the Particular Administrative Clauses Specifications. Non-Spanish companies from European Union member states that are not registered in Spain, as well as foreign companies, must comply with the provisions of clauses 5 and 11.7 of chapter II of the same specifications.

Submission of bids and opening

The deadline for submitting bids ends on November 5, 2026, at 23:59 hours. The required documentation is that indicated in clause 11 of chapter II of the Particular Administrative Clauses Specifications, and proposals shall be submitted through the Electronic Tendering Platform of the Community of Madrid.

The opening of the economic proposals and quantifiable technical criteria will not be held in a public act, in accordance with article 157.4 of the Public Sector Contracts Law (LCSP). It is scheduled for November 20, 2026, at 9:30 hours. Bids shall be written in Spanish, and the payment for the announcements shall be borne by the successful company.

Background and processing

The announcement was sent to the Official Journal of the European Union on October 5, 2026, one day before its signing in Madrid by the Deputy Director of Procurement, Gonzalo José Bardón Fernández-Pacheco. The call for tenders is part of the usual contractual activity of Canal de Isabel II, S. A., M. P. regarding the conservation of green spaces.

In recent weeks, the public company has formalized other contracts in the same field: the maintenance and improvement of green areas in zone C, awarded to Isla Verde Obras y Servicios, S. L. (file 186/2025), and the conditioning of green and forest areas (file 128/2024).

The tender opens a new business opportunity for gardening and green space conservation companies operating in the Community of Madrid, in a one-year extendable contract with an estimated value exceeding 600,000 euros. The deadline, of barely three weeks from the publication of the announcement, requires bidders to quickly prepare their documentation on the Electronic Procurement Platform.
