Por FactBox Admin

Canal de Isabel II, S. A., M. P. has extended the deadline for the submission of bids for the open procedure for the indirect management services of the south thermal drying plant with cogeneration until 23:59 hours on September 18, 2026. This is stated in the announcement of August 21, 2026, published in the Official Gazette of the Community of Madrid number 208, dated September 1, 2026, in the announcements section of the Ministry of Environment, Agriculture and Interior.
The measure is adopted in application of the Agreement of July 29, 2026, of the Governing Council, which provides for the general extension of deadlines for all administrative procedures under the jurisdiction of the Administration of the Community of Madrid and its Public Sector entities, as a consequence of the forest fires that began on July 22, 2026.
The contract and its processing
The contract, identified by number 65-2026, was initially published in the Official Gazette of the Community of Madrid number 183, dated August 3, 2026. The object of the tender is the indirect management of the south thermal drying plant with cogeneration, a service linked to the treatment of sewage sludge.
The extension announcement, signed by the Deputy Director of Procurement, Vanessa Canelo Chamorro, acting in the absence of the titular head, is communicated for the general knowledge of interested bidders.
New deadline and conditions
- New deadline: September 18, 2026, at 23:59 hours.
- Reason: general extension of deadlines due to the forest fires that began on July 22, 2026.
- Scope: all administrative procedures of the Community of Madrid and its Public Sector.
- Announcement reference: (01/13.711/26).
The extension affects only the deadline for the submission of bids, while the remaining conditions of the open procedure remain as published in the original tender announcement.
Relevance for bidders
The extension grants interested companies an additional margin of several weeks to prepare and submit their proposals, in a context where forest fires have hindered administrative and logistical activity in the region. For operators in the water and waste treatment sector, this extension represents an opportunity to adjust their bids for the management contract of the south thermal drying plant with cogeneration, one of the key assets of the Canal de Isabel II sanitation network.
