Canal de Isabel II: 757,087 euros for the sewerage system of Colmenar del Arroyo

The Canal de Isabel II has granted a direct and in-kind subsidy of 757,087.91 euros to the City Council of Colmenar del Arroyo to renovate the municipality’s hydraulic sewerage infrastructure. The list of subsidies granted by the public entity during the second quarter of 2026 is published in the Official Gazette of the Community of Madrid (BOCM) no. 228, of September 24, 2026, section I.C “Other Provisions”, page 147, with official reference BOCM-20260924-24. The publication, dated September 16, 2026, corresponds to the Ministry of Environment, Agriculture, and Interior.

The dissemination of this list responds to the mandate of article 7.4 of Law 2/1995, of March 8, on Subsidies of the Community of Madrid, and article 25.1 c) of Law 10/2019, of April 10, on Transparency and Participation of the Community of Madrid. The announcement was signed in Madrid, on September 16, 2026, by the Secretary of the Board of Directors, Elena Lara Arenas, and bears the file number (01/14.886/26).

Aid reserved for small municipalities

The declared purpose of the subsidy is the renovation of hydraulic sewerage infrastructure in municipalities with fewer than 2,500 inhabitants in the Community of Madrid. The motivation recorded in the announcement is that services such as sewerage “be provided under equal conditions and quality” throughout the regional territory.

The aid is structured as a direct and in-kind subsidy; that is, it is not delivered solely as a monetary contribution, but through the execution of the works by Canal de Isabel II itself.

The June addendum raises the agreement to 9.8 million

The legal instrument of the grant is the Addendum, of June 3, 2026, to the Agreement of December 27, 2024, between Canal de Isabel II and the City Council of Colmenar del Arroyo. That initial agreement implemented in-kind aid valued at 9,065,377.74 euros for the renovation of the municipality’s sewerage system.

The addendum incorporates the action called “ALC_COL_P1A_02rev phase 1” into the scope of the agreement, which necessitates modifying the Agreement’s Annex and updating the total amount of the actions and the supplementary quota. As a result, the estimated amount of the works increases from 9,065,377.74 to 9,822,465.65 euros, equivalent to 76% of the cost of priority 1 and 2 works defined in the Master Plan and included in the Annex.
