Camila Alonso Klaric takes office as regional secretary of National Assets

The President of the Republic, José Antonio Kast Rist, appointed Camila Alexandra Alonso Klaric as the Regional Ministerial Secretary of National Assets for the Antofagasta Region, a position of exclusive trust that represents the ministry in the mining region. The appointment was formalized through supreme decree No. 26, dated March 26, 2026, published in the Official Gazette of the Republic of Chile No. 44,540 on Wednesday, September 2, 2026 (official reference: CVE 2859744).

The new authority assumed her duties as of March 27, 2026, due to urgent reasons of good service, without waiting for the full processing of the decree. The document was also signed by the Minister of National Assets, María Catalina Parot Donoso, and transcribed by the Undersecretary of National Assets, Javier Peró Ovalle.

A position of exclusive trust

The Regional Ministerial Secretariat is part of the organic structure of the Ministry of National Assets, and one must exist in each region of the country, led by a regional secretary who acts as the representative of the ministry and a direct collaborator of the Regional Presidential Delegate. The position is filled from among the people listed in the shortlist prepared by the Regional Presidential Delegate, after consulting the Minister of the sector.

• The position is of the exclusive trust of the President of the Republic.
• The designation is carried out in accordance with Article 7 letter b) of the Administrative Statute and Article 62 of Law No. 19,175, Organic Constitutional Law on Regional Government and Administration.
• The shortlist was submitted via reserved official letter No. 153, dated March 24, 2026, by the Presidential Delegate of the Antofagasta Region.

Succession following the resignation of the previous holder

The position had been vacant since March 11, 2026, following the voluntary resignation submitted by Pía Stephanie Silva Díaz, national identity card 16,041,107-4, accepted through supreme decree No. 24, dated March 11, 2026. The new secretary, identified with national identity card 17,938,446-9, was appointed to grade 5º EUS of the Personnel Plant of Exclusive Trust Executives of the Undersecretariat of National Assets.

The decree states that the authority meets the necessary requirements to hold the position, with the favorable opinion of the Minister of National Assets. The expenditure required for the hiring is charged to subtitle 21, Personnel Expenses, of the current budget of the Undersecretariat of National Assets for the year 2026.

Relevance for the region

The designation takes on special significance for Antofagasta, one of the country’s most important mining regions, where the Regional Ministerial Secretariat of National Assets administers fiscal heritage and State assets, including lands and concessions linked to mining activity. The new authority will assume the representation of the ministry in the region and coordination with the Regional Presidential Delegate in the management of public-use and fiscal national assets.
