Calzadilla adjudica por diez años los Chozos del Parque del Lagarto

The Calzadilla City Council has awarded the public domain concession for the private use of the municipal facilities known as Chozos, located in the Parque del Lagarto, to Noelia Sánchez Fernández for a term of ten years. The agreement was adopted by the Plenary in an ordinary session on October 15, 2026, and is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Cáceres no. 0203, dated Thursday, October 22, 2026, in Section I - Local Administration, with official reference BOP-2026-4964 (pp. 24189-24190).

Economic conditions and term

The award is resolved under the conditions set forth in the offer submitted by the concessionaire and in the specifications that governed the tender. The economic and temporal terms are as follows:

  • Awardee: Noelia Sánchez Fernández.
  • Asset subject to concession: municipal facilities known as “Chozos”, located in the Parque del Lagarto of Calzadilla.
  • Annual fee: 1,239.67 euros, excluding VAT.
  • Committed investment according to offer: 26,381.17 euros.
  • Duration: 10 years.

The amount of the fee and the volume of investment make this operation the primary transfer of use of a municipal space for recreational purposes documented in the municipality in the current fiscal year.

When the term begins to count

The announcement specifies that the start of the concession period will not be considered to have occurred until three circumstances coincide simultaneously:

  • the technical declaration of availability of the facilities;
  • the material handover to the awardee;
  • and the obtaining by the concessionaire of the activity license or the enabling title required for the start of the activity.

Only from that date will the contractual term, the accrual of the fee, and the calculation of the obligations linked to the start of the operation begin. Regarding improvements, the offered investments and improvements must be executed and effectively made available to the service within a maximum period of five years from the entry into force of the concession.

Transparency and appeal process

The publication is made for general knowledge and in compliance with article 8.1.a) of Law 19/2013, of December 9, on transparency, access to public information, and good governance. The announcement appears signed in Calzadilla on October 15, 2026, by the mayor, Alejandro Madejón Jareño.

Against the resolution, which exhausts administrative remedies, an optional appeal for reversal (recurso de reposición) may be filed before the Mayor within one month, pursuant to Articles 123 and 124 of Law 39/2015, of October 1, on the Common Administrative Procedure of Public Administrations, or alternatively, a contentious-administrative appeal may be filed before the Contentious-Administrative Section of the Court of First Instance of Cáceres within two months, in accordance with Article 46 of Law 29/1998, of July 13, regulating the Contentious-Administrative Jurisdiction. If the appeal for reversal is chosen, the contentious-administrative appeal may not be filed until the former is expressly resolved or is dismissed by administrative silence.

Impact for residents and the tourism sector

The award clears the future of a municipal public-use space closely linked to the social life of Calzadilla and opens a decade-long exploitation horizon, with a defined schedule for investments. For residents, it means the continuity of leisure and hospitality facilities in the Parque del Lagarto; for the regional tourism fabric, the consolidation of a local-scale resource with private investment commitment and an annual fee that reverts to the municipal coffers. The file is now pending technical procedures and the activity license that will mark the effective start of the term.
