Calp opens 4,000 euro grants for SMEs in the face of the energy crisis

The Calp City Council has published the call for grants aimed at minimizing the economic impact of the energy crisis on SMEs, micro-SMEs, freelancers, and professionals with a tax domicile in the municipality, corresponding to the year 2026. The call, with identifier BDNS 926906, appears in the Official Gazette of the Province of Alicante on September 1, 2026, and provides grants of up to 4,000 euros per applicant.

The measure is framed within the regulatory bases definitively approved and published in BOP 151 of August 12, 2026, and is processed in accordance with Law 38/2003, of November 17, General Law on Subsidies. The file has a Credit Retention no. 220260009086 allocated in budget item 1406/4314/4790001 for a total amount of 300,000 euros.

Beneficiaries and requirements

Beneficiaries may be natural or legal persons who, being SMEs, micro-SMEs, freelancers, or other groups subject to mutual funds, have their tax headquarters in Calp and meet the requirements of Base 2.1 of the regulatory bases. Public sector entities, associations, foundations and non-profit entities, communities of assets, and groupings without legal personality are excluded, although freelance partners in such communities may apply individually.

Applicants must meet, among others, the following requirements:

• Not be subject to the prohibitions of article 13 of Law 38/2003.
• Be up to date with tax obligations with the AEAT and Social Security.
• Have no municipal tax debts or sanctions with the Calp City Council.
• Have the registered office located in the municipality of Calp.

Eligible expenses and amount

Expenses effectively proven for the consumption of electricity, gas, and fuels between March 1 and July 31, 2026, will be eligible for subsidies up to 50%. The maximum aid may reach 4,000 euros per applicant, and each beneficiary may submit only one application.

Expenses will be justified by invoices that comply with Royal Decree 1619/2012, of November 30, accompanied by documentation proving payment. Delivery notes, packing slips, pro forma invoices, or cash payments will not be accepted. If the amount of the grants exceeds the available credit, the City Council may distribute the amount pro rata among all beneficiaries, upon the proposal of the Evaluation Commission.

Deadline and submission of applications

Applications shall be submitted to the electronic registry of the Calp City Council using the standardized form SUB 09, available on the municipal website. The deadline will be 10 business days starting from the day following the publication of the summary in the BOP of Alicante.

The final resolution will be published on the municipal website and on the electronic notice board, serving as official notification. The maximum period for resolution will be six months from the end of the submission period. This call represents direct support for the local productive fabric of Calp, which is highly dependent on commercial and service activities, within a context of sustained increases in energy and fuel costs. With a budget of 300,000 euros, the city council seeks to alleviate the pressure on the current costs of small businesses and professionals in the municipality.
