Favorable environmental rating for the Bahía Coique real estate development

Calificación ambiental favorable para el desarrollo inmobiliario Bahía Coique

The Evaluation Commission of the Los Ríos Region has issued a favorable environmental qualification for the Environmental Impact Declaration (DIA) of the project “Nuevo Desarrollo Inmobiliario Bahía Coique”, submitted by its owner Inmobiliaria Arenas Blancas S.A. The decision was formalized through exempt resolution No. 20261400134 (RCA), dated September 7, 2026, and was notified in the Official Gazette of the Republic of Chile on Monday, September 14, 2026.

The notification is addressed to all natural and legal persons who submitted observations during the citizen participation process of the DIA, who have a period of 30 business days from the date of publication to file a claim with the Executive Director of the Environmental Evaluation Service, if they believe their observations were not duly considered.

Regulatory Framework

This communication is made in accordance with Article 91 of Supreme Decree No. 40 of 2012 of the Ministry of the Environment, which approves the Regulations of the Environmental Impact Evaluation System. The claim is based on Articles 20 and 29 of Law No. 19,300, on General Bases of the Environment.

The project was submitted to the Environmental Impact Evaluation System by its owner, Inmobiliaria Arenas Blancas S.A., and the resolution was adopted by the Evaluation Commission of the Los Ríos Region, the collegiate body responsible for qualifying environmental management instruments in the region.

Access to the Resolution and File

The full text of exempt resolution No. 20261400134/2026 can be consulted at the office of the Environmental Evaluation Service of the Los Ríos Region, located at Baquedano 625, Valdivia, with office hours from Monday to Friday, 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM.

Deadline and Channels for Claiming

Those who participated in the citizen consultation and consider that their observations were not duly considered in the grounds of the resolution may file their claim within 30 business days following the notification, before the Executive Director of the Environmental Evaluation Service, in accordance with Articles 20 and 29 of Law No. 19,300.

The favorable qualification constitutes a relevant milestone for the progress of the real estate project in the region, while guaranteeing the community a formal mechanism for participation and control over the environmental decision adopted.
