Caldes d'Estrac aprova inicialment el reglament d'armes de la policia local

The City Council of Caldes d’Estrac has initially approved the Internal Regulation on the use of weapons and police tools in the exercise of their duties by members of the local police force. The agreement was adopted in the ordinary plenary session on September 28, 2026, and is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Barcelona (BOPB) on October 13, 2026, with the official reference CVE 202610152149.

The measure is part of file no. 1601/2026 and affects a sensitive area of citizen security: the internal regulation of weaponry and police tools that local officers may use in the performance of their duties. The issuing body is the Plenary of the corporation, and the announcement is signed by the mayor, Elisabeth Segura Gubern, dated October 7, 2026.

Initial approval and public information process

The Plenary has agreed to initially approve the regulation and submit it for public information and public hearing for a minimum period of thirty days. During this period, interested parties may examine the file and submit any claims and suggestions they deem appropriate.

The publicity of the process will be carried out through four simultaneous channels:

  • Announcement published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Barcelona (BOPB).
  • Publication in the Official Gazette of the Generalitat de Catalunya (DOGC).
  • Dissemination in one of the daily written media outlets.
  • Display on the corporation’s notice board.

File consultation and electronic office

In addition to in-person consultation, the text will be available to interested parties at the electronic office of the City Council of Caldes d’Estrac, at the address https://caldetes.cat/. This channel allows access to the procedure’s documentation without the need to travel to the municipal offices.

The file is therefore open both for the review of the regulation’s content and for the submission of formal allegations within the established deadline.

Final approval in the absence of allegations

The announcement specifies that, if no claims or suggestions are submitted within the mentioned period, the regulation will be considered definitively approved without the need for an express agreement from the Plenary. This mechanism is common in municipal regulation approval procedures and streamlines processing when there is no citizen or institutional opposition.

Otherwise, any allegations submitted must be resolved by the competent body before the regulation definitively enters into force.

Impact for readers

The regulation directly affects the daily operation of the local police force of Caldes d’Estrac and, by extension, the security of the municipality’s residents, as it sets out in writing the conditions for the use of weapons and police tools. The thirty-day period opens a real window for citizen participation: any interested person can consult the text and submit amendments before it is definitively approved.
