Calamonte approves the municipal gym ordinance

Por FactBox Admin

The Calamonte City Council has definitively approved the Ordinance regulating the internal operation of the municipal gym, a regulation that establishes public prices, schedules, access conditions, and the regime of infractions and sanctions for the local sports service. The approval is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Badajoz, number 163, dated August 26, 2026, via announcement 3374/2026.

The ordinance was initially approved by the municipal Plenary on May 25, 2026, and following the thirty-day public information process, no claims or allegations were submitted; therefore, the initial approval was automatically elevated to definitive. The procedure was processed in accordance with articles 49 and 70.2 of Law 7/1985, of April 2, Regulating the Bases of the Local Regime, and article 56 of the revised text of the legal provisions in force regarding the Local Regime. The full text is available on the council’s electronic office.

Public prices and access passes

The ordinance establishes that the municipal gym is intended for the private practice of sports and the achievement of a healthy life, always under the supervision of qualified personnel. The payment for the access pass is final and cannot be refunded to the user, and the authorization is personal and cannot be transferred to third parties. The fixed rates are as follows:

  • 1 access: 5.00 €.
  • 10-access pass: 25.00 €.
  • 20-access pass: 40.00 €.
  • Personalized training with a monitor (group of 2-3 people): 9.50 €/hour.
  • Individual training with a monitor: 18.00 €/hour.
  • 5-session personalized training pass with a monitor, individual or in small groups, with a 10% discount on the price of five sessions.
  • Users aged 15 to 25: 10 free accesses per year, upon request at the house of culture.

Payment of the fee is made via bank transfer or credit card at the designated locations.

Schedule and conditions of use

The opening and closing hours of the facility will be set by a resolution of the Mayor’s Office, which will also determine closures for holidays, repairs, or other justified reasons. Access outside the established hours is strictly prohibited, and users must leave the facility punctually at the end of the day.

Only persons over 15 years of age who present their pass may access the gym. For those under 18, it is necessary for a father, mother, or legal guardian of legal age to sign a liability form for sports activities with minors and a participation authorization. Those under 15 may only access under the personalized training service with a monitor.

Infractions and sanctions

The ordinance classifies infractions into three degrees, with their corresponding sanctioning regime:

  • Minor infractions (eating in the facility, failing to keep materials in order, failing to report anomalies in the machines): verbal warning and fines of up to €50.00.
  • Serious infractions (incorrect behavior, damage to facilities, falsifying data, smoking, recidivism in minor offenses): loss of user status for between ten days and one year, without refund of fees, and fines from €51.00 to €300.00.
  • Very serious infractions (assault, intentional serious damage, theft or robbery, recidivism in serious offenses): loss of user status for between three months and five years, without refund of fees, and fines from €101.00 to €300.00.

Sanctions are imposed regardless of the obligation to assume the damages caused and without prejudice to precautionary measures prohibiting entry while the sanctioning proceedings are resolved. The ordinance, signed by the mayor Dolores María Enrique Jiménez, affects all users of the municipal sports service and provides legal certainty for the use of a key facility for the promotion of sports and healthy living in Calamonte.
