Calahorra appoints six subordinate career officials

The Calahorra City Council has resolved the selection process and has appointed six career civil servants from the General Administration scale, subordinate sub-scale, to fill an equal number of janitor positions. The decision was adopted by Agreement number 860 of the Local Government Board, dated August 30, 2026, and published in the Official Gazette of La Rioja number 163, dated August 26, 2026, page 14774, with official reference BOR-A-20260826-II–979.
The process is framed within the rules and call for applications approved by the Local Government Board on September 15, 2025, published in the Official Gazette of La Rioja number 184, dated September 23, 2025, an extract of which appeared in the BOE number 264, dated November 3, 2025. The appointments are made under Article 62 of the Recast Text of the Law of the Basic Statute of the Public Employee, approved by Royal Legislative Decree 5/2015, of October 30.
The six new civil servants
The appointed candidates, all of them in the “Other Professional Groups” group, are assigned to different positions in the municipal Job Position Relationship (RPT):
- Ana Belén Eguizábal García, ID *8939, to position no. 89 (Janitor of the Adult School).
- Eric Soria Genzor, ID *2827, to position no. 171 (Sports Maintenance Janitor).
- Luis Gil Zubillaga, ID *9274, to position no. 160 (Janitor of the Music School).
- Diana Ruiz Villoslada, ID *9677, to position no. 91 (Janitor of the Quintiliano Public School).
- Ramsés Iraizoz Escudero, ID *8312, to position no. 88 (Janitor of the Aurelio Prudencio Public School).
- Amelia Cenzano León, ID *5542, to position no. 150 (Janitor of the Museum).
Assumption of office
The appointed civil servants must take office within a maximum period of fifteen days, counting from the day following the date of publication of their appointment in the Official Gazette of La Rioja. The agreement, dated in Calahorra on August 25, 2026, is signed by the Mayor-President, Mónica Mercedes Arceiz Martínez.
Impact on municipal services
With these appointments, the Calahorran council consolidates the coverage of janitorial positions in educational, cultural, and sports facilities in the city, from the Quintiliano and Aurelio Prudencio public schools to the Music School, the Adult School, the Museum, and the sports facilities. The incorporation of career personnel reinforces the stability of the municipal workforce and guarantees the continuity of essential public services for the citizens.
