Cala Mitjana: public information to legalize a jetty and boat-guard hut

Por FactBox Admin

The Department of the Sea and the Water Cycle has opened a public information procedure to legalize a jetty and a boat storage shed in Cala Mitjana, in the municipality of Felanitx. The announcement is published in the Official Gazette of the Balearic Islands (no. 108, of August 29, 2026, section V, p. 47169) and opens a period of 20 business days for interested parties to submit allegations.

The request corresponds to file 012024-106CNC, promoted by Aurora Lucila Fierro Eleta, and aims to legalize a jetty and a boat storage shed located in the cove. The procedure is based on Article 74 of Law 22/1988, of July 28, on Coasts, and section 8 of Article 152 of Royal Decree 876/2014, of October 10, which approves the General Regulations on Coasts.

Deadline and how to consult the file

The documentation will be available to the public for 20 business days, counting from the day after the publication of the announcement in the gazette. During this period, interested parties may examine the project and formulate any allegations they deem appropriate.

  • In-person consultation: at the offices of the Department of the Sea and the Water Cycle, at carrer del Gremi de Corredors, 10, 07009, Palma, by prior appointment requested by email at info@dgcostes.caib.es, indicating name, contact telephone, and file number.
  • Electronic consultation: through the concessions website of the General Directorate of Coasts and Littoral.

How to submit allegations

Allegations may be submitted at any of the locations determined by Article 16.4 of Law 39/2015, of October 1, on the common administrative procedure of public administrations, and shall be addressed to the Department of the Sea and the Water Cycle, at carrer del Gremi de Corredors, 10, 07009, Palma (DIR3 A040043885).

  • In-person submission: at the aforementioned department offices.
  • Electronic submission: through the generic application procedure of the CAIB electronic office, addressed to the same department.

The announcement was electronically signed on July 22, 2026, by the Director General of Coasts and Littoral, Joaquina Ferrer Matas.

Relevance for residents and the coastline

The processing affects a space of the maritime-terrestrial public domain in a cove on the coastline of Felanitx, an environment of neighborhood and environmental interest. The legalization of these facilities, if successful, will regularize an existing occupation in the protection easement zone, and the allegations period offers residents and environmental entities the opportunity to comment on the impact of the jetty and the boat storage shed before the administration resolves the concession.
