CACSA urgently calls for a job pool for senior architects

Por FactBox Admin

The City of Arts and Sciences, SAU (CACSA) has called, via an urgency procedure, for a temporary employment pool to fill senior architecture technician positions through a merit-based competition system. The call is formalized in the Resolution of August 17, 2026, from the entity’s General Directorate, signed by the general director Ana María Ortells Miralles, and published in the Official Gazette of the Generalitat Valenciana (DOGV) on September 1, 2026, with reference 2026/27443.

The entity justifies the urgency based on the “current and immediate needs for the temporary coverage of job positions.” The pool is established under section II.10.2.3 of the Resolution of April 27, 2022, by the Minister of Finance and Economic Model, which publishes the VI Agreement of the Social Dialogue Commission of the Instrumental Public Sector of the Generalitat (DOGV no. 9329, of May 2, 2022). The call was previously negotiated with the legal representation of the workers on June 8, 2026, and has the favorable report of the Monitoring Commission of the aforementioned agreement.

The position and its functions

The called position is that of Senior Architecture Technician, assigned to professional group A CD20 E023, located in Valencia and governed by the II collective agreement of the labor personnel in the service of the regional administration. Its main functions include:

  • Managing the architectural conservation and cleaning of CACSA’s infrastructures, including the oceanographic.
  • Supervising the architectural conservation of the buildings and construction activities within the complex.
  • Coordinating architectural conservation contracts and unifying criteria across the different buildings.
  • Designing and planning small-scale interventions that integrate the vision of the ensemble designed by S. Calatrava.
  • Supervising the aesthetic, legal, and functional integration of proposals from operators and other agents.
  • Conducting architectural visits of the complex.

Requirements and merit scale

To participate, requirements include, among others, an official university degree in Architecture or a degree that enables professional practice, Spanish nationality or legal residence in Spain, and not incurring any causes of incompatibility. The valuation of merits is distributed up to a maximum of 40 points, of which up to 24 correspond to training and up to 16 to professional experience, in line with the 60% and 40% distribution provided for in the VI Agreement.

  • Experience: service at CACSA in the same position is scored (0.15 points/month), in other administrations or public entities (0.10), in the private sector (0.08), and in other CACSA positions (0.05).
  • Training: Valencian (up to 3 points), EU languages (up to 2), official academic degree (up to 5), and complementary training (up to 14).

Deadline and registration

Applications shall be submitted exclusively electronically through the CACSA Electronic Office (https://sede.cac.es/), using an electronic certificate, within a period of five business days starting from the day following the publication in the DOGV. The registration allows for self-assessment, which will be validated by the CACSA Job Bank Monitoring Commission, composed equally of representatives from the entity and the works council. The job bank will remain in effect until new job banks are established as a result of competitive examination processes that replace it.

The call opens an access route to instrumental public employment for architects at a time of immediate need for reinforcement in the conservation of one of the most emblematic architectural complexes of the Comunitat Valenciana. With a short registration period and an agile system for the assessment of merits, the job bank allows CACSA to quickly fill vacancies, substitutions, and temporary programs, while offering professionals in the sector a stable employment opportunity within the instrumental public sector of the Generalitat.
