Cabrillanes subvenciona los libros de texto con hasta 160 euros por alumno

The Cabrillanes City Council is subsidizing the purchase of textbooks and school supplies for the 2026-2027 academic year with grants ranging from 50 to 160 euros per student. The Local Government Board approved the regulatory bases and the call for applications on October 16, 2026, and the announcement is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of León no. 201, dated October 22, 2026, with the official reference BOP-LE-2026-201004. Interested families have a period of 15 business days to submit their application.

The call is processed under a competitive bidding regime and is published as an extract in accordance with articles 17.3.b and 20.8.a of the General Subsidies Law 38/2003, of November 17. The full text is available in the National Subsidies Database, with the identifier BDNS 936591. The announcement occupies pages 32 to 34 of the gazette and was signed in Cabrillanes on October 20, 2026, by the mayor, Emilio Manuel Martínez Morán.

Up to 160 euros for Secondary and 50 for Early Childhood Education

The amount of the aid is determined based on the educational level in which the student is enrolled, with four tiers:

  • Compulsory Secondary Education: 160.00 euros per beneficiary.
  • Primary Education: 135.00 euros per beneficiary.
  • Second cycle of Early Childhood Education: 100.00 euros per beneficiary.
  • First cycle of Early Childhood Education: 50.00 euros per beneficiary.

The expenditure is financed through budget allocation 323-48, for which the City Council has adequate and sufficient credit for the 2026 fiscal year. The grants are compatible with any other subsidy or aid for the same purpose from public or private administrations or entities, although the total amount, alone or in conjunction with others, may never exceed the actual cost of the books or school supplies purchased.

Registration in Cabrillanes and Enrollment in CRA Babia or Villablino

Students enrolled in Early Childhood Education or any level of compulsory education at CRA Babia or institutes in Villablino may be beneficiaries, provided that all members of the family unit are registered and reside in the municipality of Cabrillanes. It is also required that they are not subject to any of the incompatibility causes listed in article 13.2 of the General Subsidies Law.

Since the beneficiaries are minors, they will be represented by their parent, legal guardian, or the person in charge of their care and protection. The bases further detail the calculation of the family unit in cases of separation, divorce, single-parent families, and domestic partnerships, and specify that the application must be accompanied by a copy of the ID (DNI) of the beneficiary and the representative, a copy of the Family Book, a sworn statement of not being subject to exclusion causes, and the minor’s enrollment certificate.

Fifteen business days and justification before December 31

Applications shall be submitted in the name of the beneficiary at the General Registry of the Cabrillanes City Council or through any of the channels provided for in Article 16.4 of Law 39/2015, of October 1, within a period of 15 business days starting from the day following the publication of the announcement in the provincial bulletin.

To collect the aid, it will be necessary to justify the purchase through the invoices for the textbooks and school supplies acquired, which must meet the regulatory requirements. The supporting documentation must be submitted to the City Council before December 31, 2026.

The call is aimed at families from a mountain municipality whose children pursue their studies outside the municipal boundary, at the CRA Babia or in centers in Villablino, with the expenditure on school supplies concentrated at the beginning of the course. Municipal support covers up to 160 euros per Secondary school student and remains compatible with other aid, so that the family expenditure for books and materials is limited to the actual cost of what was acquired.
