This was announced by the mayor, Juan Guidú López, through an edict published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Jaén number 163, dated August 24, 2026.
The budget was initially approved by plenary agreement in a session held on July 22, 2026, and published in the BOP of Jaén number 143, dated July 27, 2026. Since no objections were filed, the agreement becomes definitive and is now published in full, summarized by chapters, along with the civil service and labor staff list.
A budget focused on real investment
The document allocates 2,459,661.24 euros to real investments, the largest item in the expenditure chapter, largely financed by capital transfers amounting to 2,310,512.20 euros and the disposal of real investments (149,149.04 euros). On the current side, personnel expenses total 845,281.60 euros and expenditures on current goods and services reach 790,498.00 euros.
Among current income, current transfers (951,921.52 euros), fees and other income (557,801.31 euros), and direct taxes (473,901.64 euros) stand out.
Staff list with vacant Local Police positions
The staff list approved alongside the budget includes civil service and labor positions, with several vacancies:

Legal framework and appeals
The publication is carried out in compliance with article 169.3 of the Recast Text of the Law regulating Local Treasuries, approved by Royal Legislative Decree 2/2004, of March 5. A contentious-administrative appeal may be filed directly against the agreement within two months before the Contentious-Administrative Chamber of the High Court of Justice of Andalusia, without prejudice to any other appeal deemed appropriate.
With this firm budget, the municipality of Jaén guarantees the execution of its investment projects for the fiscal year and specifies the Local Police positions that must be filled to reinforce security in the municipality.
