Cabra abre ayudas para adecuar viviendas y recuperar habitabilidad tras catástrofes

The Cabra City Council has opened the call for grants for the basic functional adaptation of housing and extraordinary aid for the recovery of habitability in the event of a catastrophe or serious accident, with a maximum budget of 55,000 euros. The summary of the call, signed by Mayor Fernando Priego Chacón on September 10, 2026, is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Córdoba number 179, dated September 16, 2026, with reference BOP-A-2026-3116.

The call is governed by the “Regulatory Bases for the granting of subsidies for the basic functional adaptation of housing and extraordinary aid for the recovery of habitability of the same in the event of a catastrophe or serious accident of the Most Illustrious City Council of Cabra (Córdoba)”, published in BOP number 168, dated August 21, 2026. The full text can be consulted in the National Grants Database (identifier BDNS 928902).

Object and Purpose of the Aid

The grants finance the cost of the works and actions necessary for the functional adaptation or adjustment of housing used as a habitual and permanent residence where people with disabilities, in a situation of dependency, or with limitations in mobility or personal autonomy reside, even if such a degree has not been officially recognized. They may also cover the acquisition of technical, functional, or instrumental means that promote the personal autonomy of these individuals or their caregivers in the basic activities of daily living.

Additionally, extraordinary aid is provided to cover the costs of recovering the habitability of habitual dwellings affected by catastrophes or serious accidents, such as fires, floods, or earthquakes.

Beneficiaries and Requirements

For the 1st and 2nd modalities, eligible recipients may be people over 65 years of age, people with disabilities, in a situation of dependency, or with accredited problems of mobility or personal autonomy, provided they have resided in the municipality of Cabra for at least one year and for at least two months in the home for which the action is requested.

For the 3rd modality, extraordinary aid is directed toward individuals or family units with accredited residence in Cabra for at least one year and who have resided for a minimum of two months in the affected habitual dwelling. The home must have lost its habitability due to a catastrophe (earthquake, flood, etc.) or a non-provoked serious accident (fire, lightning strike, etc.). Annexes or auxiliary buildings linked to the home may also be covered, provided they are intended for its support or service and do not have commercial use.

Deadline and Submission of Applications

The submission period is 30 calendar days starting from the day following the publication of the summary in the BOP of Córdoba. Applications may be submitted at:

  • The entry registry of the Municipal Social Services Center, located at 28 Priego Street.
  • The General Entry Registry of the Cabra City Council.
  • Any of the procedures provided for in Article 16 of Law 39/2015, of October 1, on the Common Administrative Procedure.

The forms are attached as annexes to the call: application form (Annex I), explanatory memorandum (Annex II), and a responsible declaration of income, of not having received compensation, and of meeting the requirements of Article 13 of Law 38/2003, General Subsidies Law (Annex III).

Social Impact

The call reinforces the municipal policy of support for the most vulnerable groups in Cabra, making it easier for elderly people, people with disabilities, or those in a situation of dependency to remain in their homes under conditions of accessibility and safety, and providing a response to families who lose the habitability of their home due to a catastrophe. With a budget of 55,000 euros, the City Council bets on personal autonomy and the recovery of the home as the axis of social well-being in the municipality.
