Cabildo grants free space in Hoya Parrado to the Farrah Foundation

The Island Council of Gran Canaria has initially approved the free transfer of use of a space in a property located within the Dermatological Hospital complex situated in Hoya Parrado, in the municipality of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, in favor of the Canarian Farrah Foundation for Cooperation and Sustainable Development. The agreement was adopted by the Island Government Council in an ordinary session on September 9, 2026, and is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Las Palmas number 113, dated September 21, 2026, with official reference 1.912.383. The file is now subject to public consultation for twenty days for the submission of allegations.

The announcement is signed by the Government Councilor for Presidency and Sustainable Mobility, Teodoro Claret Sosa Monzón, by delegation of the President of the Council (Decree number 28, of June 24, 2023), and is processed by the Heritage Service of said councilorship, dated September 16, 2026. The agreement includes both the free transfer of use of the space and the delegation of competence to the head of the Councilorship.

The beneficiary is the Canarian Farrah Foundation for Cooperation and Sustainable Development, a non-profit entity, and the affected asset is a space integrated into the healthcare complex of the Dermatological Hospital of Hoya Parrado, in the municipality of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.

Legal framework of the transfer

The submission of the file to public consultation is carried out in compliance with the following regulations:

• Article 83 of Law 39/2015, of October 1, on the Common Administrative Procedure of Public Administrations.
• Article 7 of Decree 8/2015, of February 5, for the streamlining and modernization of the heritage management of Canarian Local Corporations.
• Article 110 of Royal Decree 1372/1986, of June 13, which approves the Regulations on Assets of Local Entities.

Period for allegations and consultation of the file

The Island Council of Gran Canaria has agreed to submit the file to public consultation for a period of twenty days, counted from the day following the publication of the announcement in the Official Gazette of the Province of Las Palmas.

During this period, the file may be examined at the offices of the Corporation’s Heritage Service, located at Avenida Primero de Mayo, 39, 1st floor, in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, during business office hours.

Final approval if there are no allegations

If no allegations are submitted during the aforementioned period, the agreement initially adopted shall be understood as definitively approved, as stated in the announcement published in the provincial bulletin.

The initial approval corresponds to the Insular Government Council of the Insular Council of Gran Canaria, the body that already adopted the agreement in its ordinary session on September 9, 2026, prior to the opening of the public participation process.

The decision affects a space located in a reference healthcare complex on the island and an entity dedicated to cooperation and sustainable development; therefore, its processing is of interest to both the social and health services sector and third-sector organizations in Gran Canaria. Interested parties have twenty days from the date of publication to submit allegations or consult the file before the transfer is definitively approved.
