The Burriana City Council has approved the regulatory bases for the granting of subsidies for projects developed by associations and social entities for 2026, with a total budget of 15,000 euros. The call, published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Castellón number 103, dated August 27, 2026, is processed under a competitive bidding system and is aimed at non-profit entities working with vulnerable sectors of the population.

The approval was formalized through decree no. 2026-3379, dated August 20, from the Mayor’s Office, and is recorded under official reference 03826-2026-U (file 3456/2026, section IV). The competent body for granting the aid is the Mayor’s Office, and the processing of the procedure corresponds to the Department of Social Services.

Purpose and Beneficiaries

The objective of the call is the support and promotion of actions aimed at the personal and social promotion of vulnerable sectors, in accordance with Law 38/2003, of November 17, General Law on Subsidies, and the municipality’s General Ordinance on Subsidies. Associations and entities that meet the following requirements may apply for the aid:

  • Be non-profit entities, legally constituted and registered in the relevant registry of associations.
  • Have a registered office in Burriana or carry out activities aimed at its population, with a minimum seniority of one year.
  • Serve groups such as families, minors at risk or unprotected, women, the elderly, people with disabilities, ethnic minorities, chronically or mentally ill people, immigrants, transients, refugees, asylum seekers, or other vulnerable sectors.
  • That the users of the programs hold residency in Burriana.
  • Be up to date with tax and Social Security obligations, and not incur the prohibitions of article 13 of Law 38/2003.

Evaluation Criteria and Submission

The grant will be resolved by comparing applications according to the evaluation criteria set out in the bases, which score the quality of the project (up to 40 points), the impact on residents of Burriana (up to 20), the prioritization of groups at risk of exclusion (up to 15), the accredited experience of the entity (up to 15), the innovative nature (up to 5), and coordination with municipal social services (up to 5).

Applications shall be submitted through the Electronic Registry of the Burriana City Council, via the specific procedure “Social Action Subsidies 2026”, attaching the standardized forms included as annexes. Only one project may be submitted per association or entity, and the deadline will be 15 business days starting from the day following the publication of the summary of the call in the BOP of Castellón.

Financing and justification

The grants are financed through budget allocation 231.48900023, titled “Subsidies for social activity entities,” from the 2026 Municipal Budget, for a total amount of 15,000 euros. They are compatible with other subsidies, provided that the combined amount does not exceed the cost of the subsidized activity.

Justification shall be carried out via a simplified justification account, and the deadline for submitting the supporting documentation ends on November 30, 2026. Payment will be made upon justification of the activities, and failure to comply with the obligation of publicity and dissemination may result in a 10% reduction of the final amount.
