Burriana opens social action grants for vulnerable entities

Por FactBox Admin

The Burriana City Council has opened the call for public grants on a competitive basis for the support and promotion of actions aimed at the personal and social promotion of vulnerable sectors of the population, carried out by associations or social entities. The call, signed on August 31 by Mayor Jorge Monferrer Daudí, is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Castellón number 105, dated September 1, 2026, with the official reference 03885-2026-U.

The economic allocation amounts to 15,000 euros and the deadline for submitting applications is 15 business days, counted from the day following the publication of the summary of the call in the provincial gazette. The announcement is processed in accordance with articles 17.3.b and 20.8.a of the General Grants Law 38/2003, of November 17, and is listed in the National Grants Database with the identifier BDNS 926997.

Purpose and beneficiaries

The purpose of the call is to finance personal and social promotion actions aimed at vulnerable sectors, executed by associations and social entities. Eligible beneficiaries may be legally constituted non-profit entities registered in the relevant registry of associations, with a registered office in Burriana or those that carry out activities aimed at its population, and with a minimum seniority of one year since their constitution.

The purposes of the entities must be oriented toward the care of any of these groups:

  • Family, minors in situations of risk or lack of protection, and women.
  • The elderly and people with disabilities.
  • Ethnic minorities, chronically ill, and mentally ill.
  • Immigrants, transients, refugees and asylum seekers, or other vulnerable sectors.

The users or the people affected by the programs must be residents of Burriana. Furthermore, entities cannot have any current contract or agreement in force with the City Council for the same purpose, must be up to date with their tax obligations with the Tax Agency and Social Security, and must not incur the prohibitions of article 13 of Law 38/2003.

Submission of applications

Applications shall be submitted to the Electronic Registry of the Burriana City Council, in accordance with article 14 of Law 39/2015, of October 1, on the Common Administrative Procedure, through the specific electronic procedure called “Social Action Grants 2026”, attaching the standardized forms and the documentation provided for in the sixth base of the regulatory bases.

  • Only one project per association or entity may be submitted.
  • The full bases are published in the National Grants Database, the municipal notice board, the municipal website, and the BOP.

Relevance for the associative fabric

This call for applications represents a direct opportunity for Burriana’s associative network, which may apply for public funding to sustain care programs for the municipality’s most vulnerable groups. The deadline of 15 business days requires interested entities to prepare their documentation swiftly, and the limitation of one project per association seeks to ensure a balanced distribution of the 15,000 euros available among the various local social initiatives.
