Burela appoints three career local police officers from the 2025 offer

The City Council of Burela has appointed three new officers as career civil servants of the local police force. The decision was adopted by Mayoral Decree no. 2026-1212, of October 9, 2026, signed by the mayor María del Carmen Moreno López, and was publicized in the Official Gazette of the Province of Lugo (BOP) no. 240, of October 20, 2026, in the City Council section, under reference R. 2819.

The resolution affects three positions in the Special Administration scale, special services sub-scale, local police class, group C1, which were linked to the public employment offer of 2025. With their filling as career civil servants, the council closes the part of that year’s offer corresponding to the local police force.

The announcement limits its content to the essentials: the identification of the appointed persons, their administrative status, and the selection process that gave them access to the position. The text does not detail the total number of personnel in the force after the incorporation nor the scheduled date for taking office.

Three group C1 positions

From the selection process to civil servant status

The resolution justifies the appointments on the grounds that the three candidates passed the selection process for access to the local police forces of Galicia, basic scale, police category, convened by the Order of June 26, 2025, published in the Official Gazette of Galicia (DOG) no. 125, of July 2, 2025.

In addition to the competitive examination phase, the appointees completed the selection course for access to the police category in the local police forces of Galicia, convened by resolution of October 31, 2025. Passing this course is a requirement for appointment as a career civil servant, which is why the decree invokes it expressly along with the selection process.

The published text does not include the appeals process against the decree, therefore the announcement is limited to publicizing the appointment already adopted by the mayor’s office.

Impact

The incorporation of three career officers reinforces the personnel staff of the local police force of Burela and fills the positions that the council had reserved in the 2025 public employment offer.
