Brozas aprueba crédito de 297.000 euros para urbanizar el Barrio Pocitos

The Brozas City Council has initially approved an extraordinary credit of 297,000 euros destined for the urbanization of the Pocitos Neighborhood, according to the announcement published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Cáceres no. 0210, dated November 3, 2026 (official reference BOP-2026-5119, pages 24766-24767). The agreement was adopted by the municipal Plenary in an ordinary plenary session held on October 26, 2026, and the file is now subject to public consultation for fifteen days.

An extraordinary credit charged to the treasury surplus

The operation is processed as a credit modification file under the modality of extraordinary credit, identified as CE-2026-Urbanización Barrio Pocitos, and is fully financed by the liquid treasury surplus for general expenses. The file includes a statement of expenditures and a statement of income for the same amount:

  • Statement of expenditures: budgetary application 151.609.01, “Investment Urbanization Pocitos Neighborhood,” for 297,000 euros.
  • Statement of income: liquid treasury surplus for general expenses, for 297,000 euros.

The announcement states that compliance with the requirements demanded by article 37.2, sections a) and b), of Royal Decree 500/1990, of April 20, which develops chapter I of title VI of Law 39/1988, of December 28, regulating Local Treasuries, regarding budgets, has been credited. The balancing between income and expenditures is, therefore, complete: no debt or new fiscal pressure is used to cover the action.

Fifteen days to examine the file and file objections

In accordance with articles 177 and 169 of the Recast Text of the Law Regulating Local Treasuries, approved by Royal Legislative Decree 2/2004, of March 5, the file is submitted for public information for a period of fifteen days, counted from the day following the publication of the announcement in the provincial gazette.

During this period, interested parties may:

  • Examine the file at the offices of the Brozas City Council.
  • Submit as many claims as they deem appropriate before the Plenary of the corporation.

The text also establishes the resolution regime: the budgetary modification will be understood as definitively approved if no claims are presented during the aforementioned period; otherwise, the Plenary will have a period of one month to resolve them.

Processing and signing of the announcement

The announcement appears signed in Brozas, on October 27, 2026, by the mayor-president, Milagrosa Hurtado Marcos, one day after the plenary session in which the initial agreement was adopted. The publication in the Official Gazette of the Province of Cáceres —Section I, Local Administration, City Councils— marks the beginning of the period for filing objections; therefore, the public exhibition window extends from the day following publication and, provided there are no claims, the approval will become final upon the conclusion of that period.

The action is framed within the investment chapter of the municipal budget, with a specific application created for the urbanization of the neighborhood, which links the expenditure to a concrete purpose and allows for separate tracking of the project within the city council’s accounts.

Impact for residents and local businesses

The approval of the credit clears the financial path to execute the urbanization works of the Pocitos Neighborhood, an action that directly affects the residents of the area and the companies operating within it, as it involves the improvement of the neighborhood’s urbanization. Interested parties have fifteen days from the publication in the BOP to review the file and present objections before the credit modification is closed; once that procedure is completed without claims, the City Council will be able to use the 297,000 euros allocated to tender and undertake the works.
