Brazatortas opens the sewage rate increase for public exhibition
Por FactBox Admin

The Brazatortas City Council has opened for public exhibition the modification of the fiscal ordinance regulating the sewage and wastewater treatment service fee, provisionally approved by the Plenary of the Municipal Corporation in an extraordinary session held on October 22, 2026. The agreement is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Ciudad Real number 206, dated Monday, October 26, 2026, in the Local Administration section, under announcement number 3446. Interested parties have a period of 30 days to examine the file and submit claims against the approved text.
The announcement is issued in compliance with the agreement reached by the Plenary and in accordance with article 49.b) of Law 7/1985, of April 2, regulating the Bases of the Local Regime, and article 17.2 of Royal Legislative Decree 2/2004, of March 5, which approves the Recast Text of the Law Regulating Local Treasuries, published in the Official State Gazette number 59, of March 9, 2004. The modification of the sewage fee appears as point 2 of the agreement for the provisional approval of the modification of various fiscal ordinances of the municipality.
Thirty days to claim before it becomes final
The public information process adheres to the following rules, as stated in the announcement:
- Deadline: thirty days starting from the day following the date of publication of the announcement in the Official Gazette of the Province.
- Submission office: General Registry of the Brazatortas City Council.
- Body before which claims are filed: the Plenary of the Municipal Corporation.
- Effect of silence: the agreement will be understood as definitively adopted if no claim is submitted.
Standing to intervene is recognized for the legitimate interested parties referred to in article 18 of Royal Legislative Decree 2/2004, who may examine the file and formulate the allegations they deem appropriate against the provisional agreement.
No figures in the announcement: the rates are in the file
The text published in the gazette is limited to ordering the public exhibition of the agreement and does not detail the amount of the fee nor the specific scope of the revision, which must be consulted in the file deposited at the General Registry of the City Council. The ordinance affects the fee applied for the sewage and wastewater treatment service, that is, the bill paid by users connected to the municipal network.
The announcement was signed in Brazatortas on October 23, 2026, by the mayor, Pablo Toledano Dorado, and bears the electronic signature of the head of the B.O.P. section, Juan Luis Cuadros Campo, on the same October 23.
The same plenary also reviewed the water rate
The extraordinary session of October 22 was not limited to the sewerage system. In the same bulletin, under announcement number 3447, the modification of non-fiscal ordinance number 1, which regulates the rates for the provision of the water supply service of Brazatortas, is submitted for public information. In this case, the procedure is supported by Article 49 of Law 7/1985 and Article 4 of Law 39/2015, of October 1, on the Common Administrative Procedure of Public Administrations, with an identical period of thirty days, the same submission registry, and the Plenary as the body before which claims are filed.
Both modifications therefore share the same calendar: if no claims are filed within the period opened by the publication of October 26, the provisional agreements will become final without the need for a new plenary pronouncement.
Impact for residents
The revision of the sewerage and purification tax will appear on the water bills of homes and premises in Brazatortas; therefore, the public exhibition period is the only formal opportunity for subscribers and other legitimate interested parties to consult the file and discuss the conditions of the new ordinance before it becomes final. The thirty-day period begins to count the day following the publication of the announcement in the Official Provincial Gazette.
