Borobia opens the sewerage, treatment, and purification fee for public exhibition
Por FactBox Admin

The Plenary of the Borobia City Council, in an ordinary session held on November 3, 2026, agreed to the provisional approval of the Fiscal Ordinance regulating the Fee for the provision of sewerage, wastewater treatment, and purification services. The announcement is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Soria no. 127, dated November 6, 2026, with the official reference BOPSO-127-06112026 (page 3973). The file is now open for allegations for thirty days.
Legal framework and public exhibition process
The publication is based on article 17.2 of the Recast Text of the Law Regulating Local Treasuries, approved by Royal Legislative Decree 2/2004, of March 5, which requires that files for fiscal ordinances and modifications to existing ones be submitted for public information before their final approval.
The exhibition period is thirty days and is counted from the day following the insertion of the announcement in the provincial gazette. Once the announcement was published on November 6, the period extends until early December.
During this time, any interested party may consult the file and submit any claims they deem appropriate through two channels:
- In person, at the municipal offices of the Borobia City Council.
- Electronically, through the municipal electronic office borobia.sedelectronica.es.
If no claim is submitted after the deadline, the plenary agreement will be understood as definitively approved without the need for a new pronouncement by the Plenary, as stated in the announcement itself.
A new fee arriving on the water bill
The ordinance creates the fee that will tax the sewerage service and the treatment and purification of wastewater, a concept that until now did not have its own fiscal regulation in the municipality. The provisionally approved text establishes the structure of the tax and its essential elements, although the announcement does not detail the amounts or the applicable tariffs.
The agreement signed by the mayor, José Javier Gómez Redondo, is dated November 3, 2026, and is identified in the gazette with document number 2111.
The same Plenary of November 3 also provisionally approved the Fiscal Ordinance regulating the Fee for the provision of the domestic drinking water supply service including the connection right, published on the following page of the same issue of the gazette (BOPSO-127-06112026, page 3974). Both files follow the same process and share the same deadline for allegations.
Continuity in municipal fiscal review
The processing is part of a broader review of local taxation in Borobia during the autumn of 2026. Previously, the Official Gazette of the Province of Soria no. 126, dated November 4, 2026, published the final approval of the Fiscal Ordinance regulating the Fee for the provision of waste collection services, as no claims had been filed.
Earlier, the Official Gazette of the Province of Soria no. 113, dated September 28, 2026, had submitted for public consultation the modification of the Fiscal Ordinance regulating the Tax on Constructions, Installations and Works, approved in an extraordinary session on June 16, 2026.
Impact for residents
The new sewerage, treatment, and purification fee will directly affect the bills paid by households and establishments in the municipality, which will see a service that previously had no specific tax figure broken down. Furthermore, the ordinance arrives in a context of rising costs for municipal water cycle services.
The thirty-day period is the final opportunity for residents and owners of affected premises to consult the text and submit allegations before the regulation is definitively approved and begins to be applied.
