BOP publishes wage arrears and new bonus for Ferrol's auxiliary industry.

The Official Gazette of the Province of A Coruña (BOP) publishes in its issue 153, of August 13, 2026, two resolutions from the Regional Ministry of Employment, Commerce and Emigration of the Xunta of Galicia: the registration and publication of the agreement of the negotiating commission of the collective agreement for the iron and steel industry of A Coruña on the wage arrears from January to June 2026 and the modification of its second additional provision, which establishes a new allowance for the ancillary industry of the public shipyards of Ferrol. The agreements, adopted on July 31, 2026, entered the registry of collective agreements and collective agreements (REGCON) on August 4, and the resolutions were signed on August 7 by the territorial director Juan José Couce Prego.

Announcements 2026/5292 and 2026/5293 correspond to the provincial collective agreement for the iron and steel industry of A Coruña (code 15000825011982), registered under Royal Legislative Decree 2/2015, of October 23, approving the consolidated text of the Law of the Workers’ Statute, and Royal Decree 713/2010, of May 28, on registration and deposit of collective labour agreements.

Wage arrears from January to June

The minutes of the negotiating commission include the calculation of the arrears generated between January and June 2026 by the fixed items that generate them —basic salary, attendance allowance, seniority allowance (personal supplement) and extraordinary payments— as well as by the agreement allowances and other variable items, with the sole exception of that regulated in the second additional provision.

According to the published tables, the total arrears for the semester range from €880.26 at level 1 (higher degree technicians) to €607.69 at level 7 (labourer, janitor, porter and watchman), while the personal supplement, increased by 5% for 2026, generates arrears between €69.02 and €46.51 depending on the category:

• Fixed items with arrears: basic salary, attendance allowance, seniority allowance and extraordinary payments.
• The salary review under article 39 only generates arrears in respect of those items; the other allowances serve as the basis for the following year’s increase, without generating arrears.
• The commission recommends paying the arrears without waiting for their publication in the BOP, although companies are obliged to pay them from the moment of that publication.

New allowance for the public shipyards of Ferrol

The modification of the second additional provision replaces the previous wording and creates a non-consolidated allowance per actual day worked, which will be received exclusively while working at the facilities of the public shipyards of the Ferrol estuary, applying to all companies carrying out any type of work at those facilities. The amounts, differentiated by category and in force since July 1, 2026, are as follows:

• Higher and intermediate degree technicians, workshop and administration managers, draftsmen and workshop masters: €75/month in 2026, up to €175 in 2029.
• First-class steel industry professional and supervisor: €705.5/month in 2026, up to €778.5 in 2029.
• Second-class draftsman, second-class administrative officer and second-class trades and steel industry professional: €312.5/month in 2026, up to €400 in 2029.
• Warehouseman, administrative assistant, telephone operator and third-class trades professional: €211/month in 2026, up to €275 in 2029.
• Specialist and labourer: €110/month in 2026, up to €175 in 2029.

These amounts shall be paid in twelve equal monthly instalments, including the vacation month, or per actual working day according to the published formula. Neither the increase of Article 38 nor the salary review of Article 39 shall apply to them, except for first-class skilled workers and supervisors: if the agreed increase were lower than the actual CPI for the year, their amounts shall be reviewed by the difference.

Negotiating committee

The agreement was adopted by majority at the meeting of 31 July 2026, held at the premises of the Confederation of Employers of A Coruña, with the following composition:

• Employer side: Aptcor, Asinec, Agasca, Sidero and Asime, with Beatriz Regos Concha as advisor.
• Workers’ side: CCOO, UGT-FICA and CIG.
• Secretary of the committee: Gustavo Vázquez González.

The parties agreed to submit the proceedings to the Galician Council of Labour Relations for its approval and subsequent registration in REGCON.

Publication in the official bulletin makes the arrears and the new bonus enforceable for workers and auxiliary companies operating in the public shipyards of the Ferrol estuary, and marks the wage evolution of the province’s steel and metalworking sector until 2029, at a key moment for Ferrol’s naval industry.
