The publication is made in compliance with Article 85.3 of Royal Legislative Decree 2/2011, of 5 September, approving the consolidated text of the State Ports and Merchant Marine Law, which regulates the public disclosure procedure for applications to occupy port public domain. The notice, signed in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria by the director of the Port Authority, Francisco Javier Trujillo Ramírez, forms part of Section I (State Administration) of the gazette, within the Ports of Las Palmas block.
The requested plot
The applicant, with Tax ID (C.I.F.) B-97107734 and registered address at Avenida de Las Petrolíferas, s/n, 35.008, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, submits together with its application the basic project «Parcel adaptation for the BCF facilities at the Port of Arrecife», revision 01. The characteristics of the intended occupation are:
- Surface area: 5,068.00 m² of port public domain land.
- Location: Los Mármoles Quay, Functional Area 5 of the Port Service Zone of the Port of Arrecife.
- Purpose: maintenance, repair and refurbishment of containers, refrigerated and non-refrigerated, for the carriage of goods.
Allegations procedure
Those concerned who consider themselves affected shall have twenty (20) business days counted from publication in the official gazette to submit such observations and allegations as they deem appropriate. During this period, the documentation submitted will be available for inspection:
- At the offices of the Port Authority of Las Palmas, located at Calle Tomás Quevedo Ramírez, s/n, at the Port of Las Palmas.
- From 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., Monday to Friday.
Relevance for Lanzarote
Should the concession prosper, it would consolidate within the Port of Arrecife precinct an industrial activity linked to container traffic, with foreseeable implications for logistics activity and port employment on the island. The outcome of the procedure will also decide the definitive use of a strategic plot of public land in the Port Service Zone, so the notice constitutes the channel for operators, residents and affected economic agents to assert their interests before the final decision.
