Blanes aprova la substitució de la gespa del camp de Can Borell

The Blanes City Council has definitively approved the technical report for the replacement of the artificial turf at the Can Borell football field, with a contract execution budget of 304,756.64 euros. The agreement is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Girona (BOP) no. 198, of October 14, 2026, in edict 8649 (official reference BOP-2026_0_198_8649), after no allegations were submitted during the public exhibition period.

The report had been initially approved by the Local Government Board of the Blanes City Council in the session of July 16, 2026, and is processed under file number 2026/00009617Q. Since no allegations were submitted, the initial approval has become definitive for the purposes determined by article 235.2 of Legislative Decree 2/2003, of April 28, which approves the Recast Text of the Municipal and Local Regime Law of Catalonia.

The publication is made in compliance with article 38.2 of Decree 179/1995, of June 13, which approves the Regulation of works, activities, and services of local entities. The edict was signed by the mayor, Jordi Hernández Martínez, with an electronic signature date of September 26, 2026.

A municipal investment of over 300,000 euros

The approved project is an ordinary local work action focused on the renovation of the sports pavement of one of the municipality’s reference facilities. The economic and administrative data contained in the announcement are as follows:

  • Object: replacement of the artificial turf of the Can Borell football field.
  • Contract execution budget: 304,756.64 euros.
  • File number: 2026/00009617Q.
  • Initial approval: Local Government Board, session of July 16, 2026.
  • Definitive approval: by silence, as no allegations were submitted during the public exhibition period.

The replacement of the artificial turf responds to the need to maintain a municipal sports facility of intensive use in optimal conditions, both for federated practice and grassroots activity.

Processing and official publication

The file has followed the usual procedure for local works: initial approval by the governing body, submission to public information, and definitive approval once the deadline has passed without claims. The publication in the BOP provides formal publicity to the agreement and opens it for consultation by any interested person.

The announcement is included in the Local Administration - City Councils section of the provincial gazette, which is the official means of publication for the acts of local entities in the Girona district.

File consultation and appeal routes

The agreement exhausts the administrative route. The deadlines and provided routes are:

  • In-person consultation: Urban Planning Department of the Blanes City Council, Passeig de Dintre, 29, Monday to Friday, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
  • Online consultation: www.blanes.cat/docweb/urbanisme.projectes.aprovats.
  • Appeal for reconsideration, optional: one month from the notification of the agreement.
  • Contentious-administrative appeal: two months from publication, before the Contentious-Administrative Court of Girona.

The renovation of the turf at Can Borell is one of the most prominent sports investments that the Blanes City Council has brought to final approval this year, directly affecting the regular users of the field and the sports entities of the municipality. With the final approval, the action is enabled to continue its processing and execution.
