Bescanó opens public information for Inmolmat's environmental license in Montfullà

Por FactBox Admin

Bescanó obre informació pública per la llicència ambiental d'Inmolmat a Montfullà

The Bescanó City Council submits for public information, for a period of 30 days, the environmental license application for the mold manufacturing and thermoplastic injection plant of Inmolmat-Girona SL in the Montfullà industrial estate. The procedure is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Girona no. 213, dated November 5, 2026, in edict 9313 with the official reference BOP-2026_0_213_9313. The municipal file is 2553-2025-1955, processed in the Environment department.

An environmental license for the mold industry

The opening of the consultation period is carried out in compliance with Article 41 of Law 20/2009, of December 4, on the environmental prevention and control of activities. This regulation obliges the local administration to expose environmental license files to the public before resolving them, so that persons who may consider themselves affected can present the observations or claims they deem appropriate.

The declared object of the file is the activity project for the manufacture of molds and the injection of thermoplastics. It is, therefore, a plastic processing industry located within the industrial land of the municipality of Bescanó, in the Montfullà nucleus, and requires environmental authorization to operate.

The environmental license is the instrument that conditions the operation of the activity regarding emissions, waste, noise, and other impacts, and its processing opens a period in which the project is available to neighbors, companies in the industrial estate, and interested entities.

Thirty days to present allegations

The calendar and participation channels established in the announcement are as follows:

  • Duration: 30 days counted from the day after the publication of the edict in the BOP, that is, starting from November 6, 2026.
  • Consultation: the file remains available to the public at the activities area of the Bescanó City Council.
  • Submission: allegations, complaints, or suggestions can be addressed to the General Registry of the council.
  • Accepted means: in person, by certified administrative mail, or by any of the suitable means of Article 16.4 of Law 39/2015, of October 1, on the common administrative procedure.
  • Who can intervene: persons who consider themselves affected in any way by the activity.

Data reservation and plant location

The edict expressly excludes from public information the data of the application and the accompanying documentation that are protected by the confidentiality regime. This means that the consultation will be carried out on the administrative file, but without access to the promoter’s reserved information.

The published reference data are:

  • Promoter: Inmolmat-Girona SL.
  • Activity: manufacture of molds and injection of thermoplastics.
  • Address: Willy Brandt street, number 3, Montfullà industrial estate.
  • Issuing body: Bescanó City Council, Joan Maragall square, 3, 17162 Bescanó (telephone 972 44 00 05; ajuntament@bescano.cat).
  • Signatory: the mayor, Xavier Vinyoles i Compta, with a digital signature dated October 26, 2026.

The publication in the official bulletin is what gives effectiveness to the procedure: once the deadline has passed, the council can continue the processing and resolve the environmental license, with the conditions established and the allegations submitted incorporated into the file.

For local readers, the news is of double interest: on one hand, it sets a real deadline of 30 days for any affected party to take a position on a plastics industry on urban industrial land; on the other, it provides documentary evidence of the Inmolmat-Girona SL project in Montfullà, an industrial estate that hosts productive activity and whose surroundings will be conditioned by the final resolution of the procedure.
