Por FactBox Admin

The Benuza City Council has announced school grants of 200 euros per student for the acquisition of books and school supplies for the 2026/2027 academic year. The call is approved by Mayoral resolution dated September 29, 2026, signed by the mayor-president Domingo Cabo Valle, and its summary is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of León (BOP) number 189, dated October 2, 2026, with the reference BOP-LE-2026-189003. Interested parties have 15 business days from the date of publication to submit their application.
The announcement is disseminated under articles 17.3.b and 20.8.a of the General Subsidies Law 38/2003, of November 17, and is registered in the National Subsidies Database with the identifier 932360. The regulatory bases are those contained in the 2026 budget execution bases, approved by the Plenary of the Benuza City Council on February 11, 2025.
Requirements and beneficiaries
Family units in any of the following situations may apply for the grant:
- Single-parent families unemployed without benefits and not cohabiting with other family members with income.
- Minors in a situation of risk and/or lack of protection, as assessed by social services.
- Families with both parents unemployed awaiting assessment of their application and not cohabiting with other family members with income.
- Large families, with a title granted by the autonomous community or with a pending application in accordance with the Law 40/2003, of November 18, on the Protection of Large Families.
- Minors with special needs related to their recognition as disabled and/or dependent.
- Minors in foster care formalized by the competent Administration.
Additionally, minors must be registered in the census of inhabitants of Benuza and be enrolled in compulsory schooling at the Colegio Rural Agrupado de Silván, for students from Silván, Sigüeya, Lomba, and Llamas de Cabrera, or at the Colegio Público de Puente de Domingo Flórez, for those from Benuza, Sotillo de Cabrera, Pombriego, Santalavilla, and Yebra.
Amount and financing
The grant is set at 200.00 euros per student, as a single annual economic payment, granted based on the fulfillment of the established requirements. The budget credit to which it is assigned is 326.480.00, “school scholarships and grants,” and the estimated maximum total amount of the called grants amounts to 2,000.00 euros.
Deadline and submission of applications
Applications shall be made using the form appearing as Annex I of the call and shall be addressed to the Mayor-President of the City Council. They shall be submitted at the municipal entry registry or by any of the means indicated in article 16.4 of the Law 39/2015, of October 1, on the Common Administrative Procedure of Public Administrations.
The deadline is 15 business days from the publication of the summary in the BOP, in accordance with article 6.2 of Royal Decree 130/2019, of March 8, which regulates the National Grants Database. The application must be accompanied by the documents listed in point 5 of Annex I.
The call reinforces municipal support for families with fewer resources in a municipality characterized by geographical dispersion and schooling in centers in neighboring towns, where the cost of books and materials represents a significant expenditure at the start of the school year. With a maximum credit of 2,000 euros, the measure reaches a small number of students, meaning the 15-business-day deadline is decisive to ensure that eligible families do not miss out on the aid.
