Por FactBox Admin

The Benidorm City Council has announced grants totaling 100,000 euros destined for associations and sports clubs in the municipality that have female teams and/or female athletes in the year 2026. The call was approved by resolution of the Local Government Board on October 19, 2026, and is published as an extract in the Official Gazette of the Province of Alicante (BOP) no. 204, dated October 27, 2026, with identification number 936388 in the National Grants Database (BDNS).
Purpose and modality of the aid
The purpose is the granting of subsidies to entities and sports clubs in the municipality that have female sports teams and/or female athletes in individual sports during the year 2026. The eligible modality covers sports activities, projects, and programs aimed at the promotion and encouragement of women’s sports, provided they are registered in the Municipal Registry of Sports Entities of the Benidorm City Council.
Activities programmed by the Department of Sports, as well as direct nominative grants, are excluded from this call. The planned amount totals 100,000 euros, and no requesting entity may receive more than 20,000 euros in total from this call.
Requirements and application deadline
All local non-profit sports clubs and entities, legally constituted, that carry out activities and present programs and are registered in the Municipal Registry of Associations, with a minimum of one year of seniority, may apply.
- Deadline: 15 calendar days starting from the day following the publication in the BOP of Alicante.
- Place of submission: Electronic office of the Benidorm City Council.
- Documentation: summary of the 2026 programs, characteristics of the beneficiaries, objectives of the sports activity destined for women in all categories, and a detailed description of the activity.
- Planned calendar, with start and end dates; if it spans more than one calendar year, the affected seasons within the calendar year must be indicated.
- Declaration that the program is not subsidized by other departments or council offices of the city council, along with expense and income budgets.
- Photocopy of the tax identification card, updated list of the board of directors, and agreement to apply with the designation of a representative.
- Responsible declaration of not incurring the prohibitions of Article 3 of the General Grants Law and a positive certificate of being up to date with tax obligations and Social Security.
If the association or club does not submit all the documentation, they will be required to provide the mandatory documents within a period of 7 calendar days.
Evaluation criteria and competent bodies
The verification, evaluation, and assessment of the applications are the responsibility of the Technical Commission. The procedure shall adhere to the principles of publicity, transparency, competition, objectivity, equality, and non-discrimination.
The awarding criteria are:
- Seniority of the entity.
- Number of federated athletes.
- Federation expenses allocated to women’s sports.
- Travel expenses.
- Referees and judges.
- Collaboration with the Department of Sports in sporting activities or events.
The extract is signed by the mayor, Antonio Pérez Pérez, and the secretary, Vicent Ferrer Mas, and is processed in accordance with articles 17.3.b and 20.8.a of the General Subsidies Law 38/2003, of November 17.
The call for applications reaches the local sporting community with a tight schedule: interested clubs have barely two weeks to gather the documentation and submit their programs electronically. The distribution of up to 20,000 euros per entity makes these grants a direct support for the maintenance of women’s squads and their competition expenses in Benidorm.
