Four temporary positions for Local Police officers
The Benicarló City Council has approved the call to temporarily fill four Local Police officer positions, through the secondment system. The resolution, published in Official Bulletin of the Province of Castellón number 98, of 15 August 2026, responds to the need to cover urgent vacancies in the municipal security force. The announcement appears under internal reference 03702-2026-U in the Local Administration section of the bulletin.
The decision was adopted by means of Resolution No. 3101, dated 12 August 2026, of the delegated councillor for the Human Resources area, Álvaro Luis París Sánchez, in exercise of the powers conferred by Article 21.1.g) and s) of Law 7/1985, of 2 April, Regulating the Bases of Local Government, and by virtue of the delegation of powers made by mayoral decree of 18 September 2025.
Requirements for applicants
The terms of the call establish the following requirements to participate in the selection process:
- Be a career civil servant in any of the Local Police Corps of the Valencian Community, belonging to the Special Administration Scale, Special Services Subscale, Local Police class and its auxiliaries, placed in the basic scale, subgroup C1 and Officer category.
- Be in active service, with at least two years remaining before moving to the situation of second activity due to age.
- Not have been separated through disciplinary proceedings from the service nor disqualified, in the terms of Article 1.d) of Royal Legislative Decree 5/2015, of 30 October.
- Possess the functional capacity to perform the duties.
- Have the favourable report of the City Council of origin.
Conditions of the secondment
The four positions called correspond to the Officer category, with a destination supplement of level 20 and a specific supplement of €14,192.50 per year. The secondment will last for the time strictly necessary until the position is permanently filled, and shall have a maximum duration of two years, in accordance with Article 69.2 of Law 17/2017, of 13 December, of the Generalitat, on Coordination of Local Police of the Valencian Community. This period shall, in any case, require the consent of the City Council of origin prior to the appointment.
Submission deadline and electronic processing
The application submission deadline will end five business days counted from the day following the publication of the rules in the BOP of Castellón. Applications must be submitted electronically to the Registry of the Electronic Headquarters of the Benicarló City Council, through the address https://benicarlo.sedipualba.es. The application must be accompanied by the following documents:
- Certificate issued by the City Council of origin proving the status of civil servant in active service.
- Resolution of the Mayor’s Office authorizing the temporary assignment, where applicable.
- Curriculum Vitae.
- Copy of the ID card.
Evaluation Committee and appointment
The Evaluation Committee that will assess the candidates shall be composed of the Chief of the Local Police as president, the General Secretary of the City Council as secretary, and three career civil servant members. Once the submission period has ended, the list of admitted and excluded applicants will be published, granting three business days for appeals. The committee will assess seniority, level of consolidated grade, qualifications, courses related to the position, and knowledge of Valencian or EU languages. Selected individuals must take office within ten days from the notification of the appointment.
The selection process will be published on the notice board of the Electronic Headquarters of the City Council, and its progress may be consulted at https://www.ajuntamentdebenicarlo.org/rhu/prhu-rhumans.php3. The resolution was signed in Benicarló on August 13, 2026, by the councilor Álvaro Luis París Sánchez.
