Benavides submits the urbanization of Plaza de la Esperanza for public consultation

The Benavides City Council has initially approved, by Mayoral Resolution dated September 4, 2026, the works project for the execution of the first phase of the urbanization of the Plaza de la Esperanza, and is submitting it for public review for 20 days. The announcement is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of León number 175, dated September 14, 2026, with official reference BOP-LE-2026-175002.

The action, which corresponds to the action unit AA-NU-01, has an estimated contract value of 369,987.39 euros plus 77,697.35 euros in VAT, totaling 447,684.74 euros. Its financing was requested as a grant from the Most Excellent Provincial Council of León charged to the 2025 Infrastructure, Works, and Services (IOS) Plan.

The project, titled “Execution of the first phase of the Urbanization of the Plaza la Esperanza,” aims for the comprehensive urbanization of this public space within the municipality. Public review period

The file is submitted for public review for a period of 20 days, counted from the day following the publication of the announcement in the Official Gazette of the Province of León. The procedure is carried out in accordance with Article 93 of Royal Legislative Decree 781/1986, of April 18, which approves the revised text of the legal provisions in force regarding the Local Regime, in relation to Article 83 of Law 39/2015, of October 1, on the Common Administrative Procedure of Public Administrations.

During said period, any interested party may examine the project at the municipal offices and submit any allegations they deem appropriate. The document will also be available on the City Council’s electronic office at the address http://aytobenavides.sedelectronica.es.

Signature and processing

The announcement, dated in Benavides de Órbigo on September 11, 2026, is signed by the mayor, María Esperanza Marcos Álvarez. The initial approval was adopted by Mayoral Resolution on September 4, 2026, and the financing is structured through the grant requested from the Provincial Council of León charged to the IOS Plan 2025.

The urbanization of the Plaza de la Esperanza constitutes a high-impact urban improvement for the municipality of Benavides de Órbigo, by renovating one of its most significant public spaces. The provincial regional funding, channeled through the IOS 2025 Plan, allows the City Council to undertake a major project without excessively compromising its own resources, and the objections period guarantees citizen participation in the final definition of the project before its definitive approval.
