Benasque convoca becas de movilidad para estudiantes con 25.000 euros

The Benasque City Council has announced mobility and educational support grants for students pursuing higher education outside the municipality during the 2025/2026 academic year. The call is published as an extract in the Official Gazette of the Province of Huesca number 202, dated October 21, 2026, with the official reference BOPH-2026-202006 and file number 4644, and registered in the National Grants Database with the identifier BDNS 935993. The full guidelines, spanning ten pages, are available on the municipal electronic office and the Ministry of Finance grants portal.

A budget of 25,000 euros and distribution in two tiers

The maximum global amount allocated to the call amounts to 25,000.00 euros, assigned to budget application 2026.3260.48000 of the 2026 municipal budget. The distribution combines a guaranteed fixed fund of 200.00 euros for each admitted application with a variable fund distributed through competitive bidding based on academic performance.

The individual amount is calculated by assigning a weighting coefficient to each file based on the percentage of passed subjects and the type of studies, according to this scale:

  • Excellent (100% of credits passed): 50 points for university students, 40 for Higher Level Vocational Training (FP), and 30 for Intermediate Level Vocational Training (FP).
  • High (between 80% and 99.9%): 40, 30, and 20 points respectively.
  • Medium (between 60% and 79.99%): 30, 20, and 10 points.
  • Minimum (less than 60%): 15, 10, and 5 points.

University students enrolled in less than a full course receive an amount proportional to the credits in which they are enrolled, provided they meet the required passing percentage.

Requirements: age, residency, and academic record

Eligible beneficiaries are young people aged 16 to 26 during the 2025/2026 course, registered and with effective residence in Benasque—both the applicant and their family nucleus—with a minimum seniority of three years as of the application deadline. They must be enrolled in a center outside the municipality in Undergraduate university degrees or equivalents, or in Intermediate and Higher Level Vocational Training cycles with no local offering.

The following cases are excluded, among others:

  • Non-regulated education, compulsory secondary education (ESO), and Baccalaureate.
  • Third-cycle studies, doctorates, specializations, and official master’s degrees.
  • Proprietary degrees and distance or online studies without mandatory in-person attendance, including UNED.
  • Those repeating a course or who have received other aid for the same purpose.

A minimum academic performance certified by the center’s secretariat is also required: 80% of credits in Arts and Humanities and in Social and Legal Sciences, 70% in Health Sciences, and 58% in Science and Engineering or Architecture. In Vocational Training for Plastic Arts and Design, Sports Education, and Music and Dance, 75% of modules or hours are required for Higher Grade, and all subjects from the previous year must be passed, with a maximum of two exceptions for Intermediate Grade.

20-day deadline and processing

The deadline for submitting applications is 20 calendar days from the day following the publication of the summary in the Official Gazette of the Province of Huesca. The application may be submitted in person at the Town Hall offices or electronically via the electronic office https://benasque.sedipualba.es, accompanied by enrollment records, transcripts, a historical coexistence certificate, and a third-party form, among other documentation.

The instructing body is the Education area, through the Municipal Technician for Tourism and Culture, and the evaluation is carried out by a Valuation Commission composed of technical personnel from the Culture and Education area. The final grant will be approved by Mayoral Resolution within a maximum period of three months from the closing of applications; if no notification is received after this period, the application is considered rejected by administrative silence. These grants are incompatible with other subsidies for the same purpose.

Impact for families in the municipality

The call is expressly presented as a tool to retain the population and fight against depopulation and the demographic challenge: the lack of higher education offerings in the town forces young people to relocate, and the Town Hall assumes part of the cost of that mobility. The text was signed in Benasque on October 18, 2026, by the mayor, Manuel Mora Bernat, and an appeal for reversal may be filed against the call within one month before the Mayor’s Office, or a contentious-administrative appeal within two months before the Contentious-Administrative Courts of Huesca.
