Begur submits the improvement of the drinking water network for public review

The Begur City Council has initially approved the project for improvements to the municipality’s low-pressure drinking water supply network, with a contract execution budget of 1,055,863.71 euros, VAT included. The agreement was adopted by the Local Government Board in the session of September 15, 2026, and is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Girona no. 181, of September 21, 2026, in the Local Administration – City Councils section (p. 1-1). The project is subject to public review for thirty business days so that interested parties may submit allegations and claims.

The announcement bears edict number 8102 and official reference BOP-2026_0_181_8102, and is electronically signed by the mayor, Maite Selva Huertas, on September 16, 2026. The same publication indicates that the project can be consulted via the link accompanying the announcement.

More than one million euros for the low-pressure network

The contract execution budget for the action is 1,055,863.71 euros, VAT included, equivalent to one million fifty-five thousand eight hundred sixty-three euros and seventy-one cents, according to the figure literally recorded in the announcement. This is the largest municipal investment in economic terms among those published in this edition of the provincial gazette.

The purpose of the project is the improvement actions for the low-pressure drinking water supply network, that is, the part of the network that runs through the streets and provides direct service to the municipality’s subscribers. The initial approval corresponds to the Local Government Board, the body that adopted the agreement in the session of September 15, 2026.

Thirty business days to submit allegations

The public information process is open under the following terms and channels:

• Duration: thirty business days.
• Start of the count: the day after the last publication of the corresponding announcement.
• Publication means: the Official Gazette of the Province of Girona, the Official Gazette of the Generalitat de Catalunya, and the notice board of the municipal electronic headquarters.
• Purpose: to submit allegations and claims against the project.
• Effect if there are none: the initial approval agreement will automatically become final, without the need to adopt any subsequent agreement.

A September with several open files in Begur

The processing of the water network is added to other municipal files published this same month in the provincial gazette:

• File 10/2026 for the modification of 2026 budget credits, initially approved by the Plenary on September 1, 2026 (BOP no. 172, of September 7, 2026).
• The valued report for the installation of new air conditioning and ventilation equipment in the Plenary Hall of the Town Hall, file 3166/2026 (BOP no. 174, of September 9, 2026).
• The collaboration agreement with the Housing Agency of Catalonia to promote protected housing on the plot at 5B Sant Josep Avenue, Esclanyà (BOP no. 176, of September 14, 2026).
• The valued report for the repair of the reinforced concrete balcony at the Port of Fornells Aiguablava, file 3254/2026 (BOP no. 178, of September 16, 2026).

The publication of the file is of particular interest to the residents of Begur, who may examine the project and submit objections within the deadline, and to construction and water sector service companies, who see an action of over one million euros in the pre-tendering phase. If the process closes without claims, the approval will automatically become final and the project will be ready for execution.
