Becas riojanas para estudiar fuera: 2,48 millones para el curso 2026/2027

The Government of La Rioja has announced complementary grants for the pursuit of university studies outside the community during the 2026/2027 academic year, with a total allocation of 2,482,998 euros. The measure is formalized in Resolution 86/2026, of October 16, from the Department of Education and Employment, whose extract is published in the Official Gazette of La Rioja (BOR) No. 208 this Wednesday, October 28, 2026, in section III of other provisions and acts. The document consists of two pages and bears the secure verification code BOR-A-20261028-III–4030.

The call is based on the regulatory bases established by Order DEA/39/2021, of June 23 (published in the BOR on June 29), issued at that time by the Department of Autonomic Development, which regulates the procedure for granting these complementary grants. The extract is disseminated in accordance with articles 17.3.b) and 20.8.a) of the General Subsidies Law 38/2003, of November 17, and refers to the full text deposited in the National Subsidies Database under the identifier BDNS 936255.

Who can apply

The grants are aimed at students enrolled in official face-to-face university education at a Spanish center or university located outside the territory of La Rioja. The covered studies are:

  • Official university degree.
  • University Master’s degree enabling the practice of a regulated profession.
  • The studies included in the first additional provision of Order DEA/39/2021.

The cases provided for in article 4 of the aforementioned order are excluded from the scope of application. The objective is the partial financing of current expenses derived from these face-to-face teachings, provided that the applicant meets the requirements of the call.

Amount and budgetary allocation

The announced amount totals 2,482,998 euros, charged to budget item 0800.3225.48000 for the 2027 fiscal year. If the credit approved in the community’s General Budget Law for 2027 turns out to be higher than the estimated figure, the Vice-Department of Education, Universities and Vocational Training may decide to apply it to the call, following the processing of the expenditure file before the resolution and without the need for a new call.

In any case, the granting is conditional on the existence of adequate and sufficient credit at the time of award, in accordance with article 56.2 of Royal Decree 887/2006, of July 21, which approves the Regulation of Law 38/2003.

How and when to submit the application

The processing is entirely electronic and the request must be electronically signed by the applicant. The operational points of the call are:

  • Deadline: twenty business days starting from the day following the publication of the summary in the BOR.
  • Channel: form accessible from the electronic office of the Government of La Rioja, under the procedure identified with code 08207.
  • Documentation: as provided in the tenth section of the call.
  • Grant requirements: those in the third, fourth, fifth, and sixth sections.
  • Payment method: in accordance with article 21 of Order DEA/39/2021.

The justification of the aid will be carried out by presenting the receipt of payment for the tuition fees for the 2026/2027 academic year.

Institutional Closing

The summary is dated in Logroño on October 16, 2026, and is signed by the Counselor of Education and Employment, Alberto Galiana García. The document also incorporates the internal file reference 202610230125171 and the publication identifier III.4030.

The call arrives with the academic year already underway and is intended to alleviate the added cost assumed by Riojan families whose children pursue university studies outside the community, where the offer of degrees is more limited. The weight of tuition, accommodation, and transport outside the region makes these complementary grants a key piece for equal opportunities, and their exclusively electronic processing requires applicants to have a digital certificate or equivalent system to avoid missing the twenty-business-day deadline.
