Barbate renews its government team with seven deputy mayors.
Por FactBox Admin

The Barbate City Council has appointed seven deputy mayors by means of the Mayoralty Decree number 2026-2215, of July 30, 2026, whose notice is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Cádiz (No. 155, of August 13, 2026). The appointment sets the order of substitution of the mayor in cases of absence, illness or impediment and defines the political structure of the municipal government team.
The decree, signed by the mayor-president, Carlos Javier García Ramírez, includes the list of council members who will serve as deputy mayors. According to the published text, the appointed persons are responsible, after accepting the office, for substituting for the mayor in all of his functions and in the order of their appointment when the officeholder is unable to exercise his powers.
The publication is made in accordance with Article 44.2 of Royal Decree 2568/1986, of November 28, which approves the Regulations on Organization, Functioning and Legal Regime of Local Entities, which requires that this type of resolution be given official publicity.
The seven deputy mayors
The government team is configured, in order of precedence, with the following persons:
- Ana Moreno Jiménez, first deputy mayor.
- Juan Miguel Muñoz Serrano, second deputy mayor.
- Francisco Ponce Pérez, third deputy mayor.
- Tamara Caro Pomares, fourth deputy mayor.
- Rosario Reyes Malia, fifth deputy mayor.
- Raquel Moral Muñoz, sixth deputy mayor.
- Gemma Rivera Barroso, seventh deputy mayor.
A substitution order with practical effects
The order of appointment is not merely protocolary: it determines which council member assumes the Mayoralty and in what sequence when the mayor is absent, ill or impeded. Ana Moreno Jiménez, as first deputy mayor, heads the list of substitutions, followed by the other appointed persons according to their number.
The decree is dated July 30, 2026, the notice was signed on July 31, and its publication in the provincial gazette takes place on August 13, 2026, at which point the appointment acquires full official publicity. The resolution thus renews the government team of the municipality in Cádiz and defines the chain of command of the City Council for the exercise of the Mayoralty.
Relevance for municipal management
With this appointment, the Barbate City Council ensures administrative continuity: any procedure, signature or decision of the Mayoralty may be immediately assumed by the deputy mayors, in the established order, without paralyzing municipal management. For citizens, publication in the official gazette guarantees the transparency of the government structure and makes it possible to know who exercises the political leadership of the town hall at all times.
