Por FactBox Admin

Baralla formalizes a new line of support for federated sport in the municipality. The Baralla City Council publishes in the Official Gazette of the Province of Lugo the Specific Municipal Ordinance on Subsidies for Sports Entities and Federated Athletes, definitively approved by the municipal Plenary last 30 July 2026.
Approval and official publication
The regulation was approved under a competitive bidding regime, pursuant to Article 70.2 of Law 7/1985, of 2 April, Regulating the Bases of Local Government. Its publication in the BOP of Lugo, issue number 186, dated 17 August 2026, with registration reference R.2189, marks its administrative entry into force. The municipal Plenary granted final approval at the session of 30 July 2026, having passed all prior legal procedures.
The instructing body shall be the official designated by the Baralla City Council, and the maximum period for resolving the procedure shall be six months, in accordance with Article 25.4 of Law 38/2003, of 17 November, General Law on Subsidies.
Who can apply and under what conditions
The subsidy is aimed at federated sports entities and federated athletes within the municipal area of Baralla. To access the aid, beneficiaries must meet a series of requirements:
- Have residence and registered office in Baralla.
- Meet the requirements of Article 13 of Law 38/2003, of 17 November, General Law on Subsidies.
- In the case of sports entities: be registered in the Registry of Sports Entities of Galicia and in the Municipal Registry of Associations of the Baralla City Council, as well as being registered with the Tax Agency and holding the corresponding T.I.N.
- Be up to date with tax obligations and with the Social Security.
Assessment criteria and amount
The subsidy amounts to €500.00 per federated athlete or applicant sports entity. The amounts are awarded in order of score achieved, until the budget credit is exhausted.
The merit scale establishes three competition levels:
- Spanish, European, World Championship or Olympics: from 1 point (8th place) to 6 points (1st place).
- Galician Championship: from 1 point (3rd place) to 3 points (1st place).
- Provincial Championship: from 0.5 points (3rd place) to 2 points (1st place).
This scale gives significantly greater weight to results obtained in national and international competitions compared to Galician and provincial competitions.
Justification and visibility obligation
All beneficiaries must submit a justifying account of expenditure once the approval of the subsidy has been notified. The supporting documents must refer to sports equipment, kits and travel derived from official federated competitions, presenting original or certified invoices, payroll records or social insurance documents.
Furthermore, the recipient entities and athletes are obliged to state in their documentation and advertising materials that the activity was subsidised by the Baralla City Council, including its logo as a collaborating entity on posters, leaflets, printed materials and electronic media.
Relevance to the local sports fabric
This ordinance represents a tool for promoting grassroots and federated sport in the Baralla City Council, a municipality with a small population in the north of the province of Lugo where the associative and sports fabric depends to a large extent on public support. The grant line seeks to reward the sporting merits of its representatives and reduce the economic burden of travel to official competitions.
