Bank of Guyana reports US$1.47bn oil receipts for third quarter
Por FactBox Admin

The Bank of Guyana has notified receipts of approximately US$1.47bn paid into the Natural Resource Fund for the period 1 July to 30 September 2026, according to a Government Notice published in The Official Gazette of Guyana of 12 October 2026 at page 971. The notification lists 17 profit-oil lifts, one quarterly royalty payment and one signature bonus, all reported on a cash basis. It is the primary public accounting of Guyana’s petroleum revenue for the quarter.
The notice appears under “B. Subsidiary Legislation – Government Notice” in the issue dated 12 October 2026, printed and published by Guyana National Printers Limited at 1 Public Road, La Penitence, Greater Georgetown. The Natural Resource Fund is the statutory account into which petroleum revenues earned by the Government of Guyana are deposited, and the Bank of Guyana publishes the deposit schedule as a matter of routine disclosure.
The gazette states that profit-oil receipts derive from Government of Guyana lifts of crude oil earned as profit, while royalties are paid quarterly, thirty days following the end of each calendar quarter. Receipts are reported on a cash basis and remain subject to change following price reconciliation.
Profit oil lifts from four floating platforms
Seventeen profit-oil payments were deposited during the quarter, drawn from lifts executed between 14 June and 30 August 2026. The lifts came from four floating production, storage and offloading vessels operating in the Stabroek block:
- One Guyana — six lifts, deposited between 15 July and 23 September 2026, ranging from US$70,227,927.33 to US$85,091,064.40.
- Liza Unity — five lifts, deposited between 16 July and 29 September 2026, ranging from US$71,009,133.35 to US$87,709,508.93.
- Prosperity — four lifts, deposited between 17 July and 25 September 2026, ranging from US$69,176,554.95 to US$91,456,490.77.
- Liza Destiny — two lifts, deposited on 18 August and 9 September 2026, of US$70,177,146.22 and US$81,328,530.56.
The largest single profit-oil deposit was US$91,456,490.77, recorded on 11 September 2026 for a lift executed on 13 August 2026 from the Prosperity FPSO. The smallest was US$69,176,554.95, deposited on 7 August 2026 for a lift executed on 8 July 2026 from the same vessel. Profit-oil payments alone account for about US$1.36bn of the quarter’s total.
Quarterly royalty and seismic signature bonus
Two non-profit-oil items complete the schedule:
- A royalty payment of US$111,203,927.96 related to 2026 second-quarter production, deposited on 30 July 2026 and equivalent to G$23,186,018,980.
- A signature bonus of US$99,985.00 from CGG Services SAS, net of bank charges, deposited on 18 August 2026 in connection with a 3D seismic multi-client agreement.
The royalty is the largest single line in the notification and reflects the quarterly cycle set out in the gazette’s explanatory note. The signature bonus is the only receipt in the period not derived from crude oil sales.
Cash-basis reporting and price reconciliation
Every entry in the schedule carries both a United States dollar figure and a Guyana dollar equivalent, with the Guyana dollar amounts totalling roughly G$306bn across the quarter. The gazette’s note warns that the figures are provisional: because receipts are recorded on a cash basis, they may be revised once price reconciliation is completed.
The deposits are dated by the day the money reached the fund, not the day the underlying cargo was lifted, so the schedule pairs each payment with the lift it settles. That lag ranges from roughly one to two months across the quarter.
The notification gives budget watchers, taxpayers and Stabroek-block stakeholders their clearest quarterly picture of how much oil money actually arrived in the fund, and when. Because the figures are cash-basis and subject to reconciliation, the totals published here are a provisional benchmark rather than a final statement of the quarter’s petroleum revenue.
