Baiona nomea policía local de carreira ao axente Juan Luis Davila Fernández

The Baiona City Council has incorporated Juan Luis Davila Fernández as a career civil servant in the local police force. The decision was made by the mayor, Jesús Vázquez Almuíña, through Mayor’s resolution 2026-2912, dated October 20, 2026, and is publicized in the Official Gazette of the Province of Pontevedra (BOPPO) no. 208, dated October 28, 2026, within the Local Administration section. The announcement, processed under file 5151/25, closes the selection process opened in 2025 and formalizes the entry of a new officer into the basic scale of the municipal body.

The appointment is made “in accordance with the provisions of article 17 of Decree 95/1991, of March 20”, a regional regulation that governs the publication procedure for these cessations and appointments within the local sphere. The official publication is, therefore, the requirement that gives effectiveness and public character to the designation agreed upon by the Mayor’s office five days before its printed appearance in the gazette.

The position covers the following characteristics:

  • Special Administration Scale, sub-scale of Special Services.
  • Local police officer position, group C1.
  • Positions linked to the Public Employment Offer of 2024 (OEP 2024).
  • Destination: Baiona City Council, within the personnel framework of the Local Police body.

The announcement bears the mayor’s signature in Baiona, dated October 22, 2026, two days after the resolution that supports it.

Two administrative milestones before the appointment

As stated in the announcement itself, the designated person passed two consecutive phases convened outside the council, both of a regional scope:

  • The selection process for entry into the local police bodies, basic scale, convened by the Order of June 26, 2025, published in the Official Gazette of Galicia no. 125, dated July 2, 2025.
  • The selective training course for the police category of the Galicia Police bodies, convened by resolution on November 30, 2025.

The completion of these two stages, together with the tribunal’s proposal and the subsequent taking of office, is what allows a position offered in 2024 to be transformed into a post effectively occupied by career civil service personnel.

Traceability and verification of the announcement

The announcement incorporates a secure verification code (CSV) O02KDJZUQGFA0PTM which allows the integrity of the document to be checked on the electronic headquarters of the Provincial Council of Pontevedra, the publishing entity of the gazette. This verification system is common in personnel announcements published in the BOPPO and allows any interested party to compare the printed text with the original document issued by the council.

The publication does not include the full tax identification number of the appointee, which appears partially hidden, in application of data protection regulations.

An appointment in a provincial vacancy for incorporations

The appointment in Baiona occurs within a context of mass incorporations of agents into the province’s municipalities, derived from the 2025 regional calls and the public employment offers of 2024 and 2025. In the month of October alone, equivalent appointments were published in the same bulletin for Bueu (resolution 2026-1918, of October 13), Meaño, Silleda (resolution 2026-0938, of October 15), and O Rosal (resolution 2026-0980, of October 13), among other municipalities.

For Baiona, the announcement closes a file opened in 2025 and guarantees coverage by a career official, a figure that provides greater stability to the service compared to the interim or temporary coverages that are usually employed while these processes are resolved.

The relevance of the news is twofold: for the municipal staff, because it consolidates a position from the 2024 offer and opens the door to future internal promotions; for the citizens, because it reflects the reinforcement of the Local Police force, a service directly linked to daily security in the municipality.
