Badajoz announces six Local Police Officer vacancies via mobility

The Badajoz City Council has publicized the rules for the call to fill six positions for Local Police Officer, as career civil servants, through a merit-based competition in a mobility shift. The announcement, signed on September 7, 2026, is published in the Official Gazette of Extremadura number 179, dated September 16, 2026, with official reference 2026081520.

The rules of the call were previously published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Badajoz number 152, dated August 11, 2026. The application period will be twenty business days starting from the day following the publication of the call announcement in the Official State Gazette.

Characteristics of the positions

The six positions fall under the Special Administration scale, Special Services sub-scale, Local Police class, Basic or Executive scale, Officer category, belonging to Group C, Subgroup C1, according to Legislative Royal Decree 5/2015, of October 30, which approves the revised text of the Basic Statute of Public Employees Law.

The position is endowed with the emoluments corresponding to said group, with the right to triennials, two extraordinary payments, and other remunerations that correspond according to current legislation and that the corporation has agreed or may agree upon.

Selection system and requirements

The provision is carried out by a merit-based competition in a mobility shift, a system aimed at career civil servants that allows for transfer between administrations by evaluating the professional trajectory of the applicants.

The announcement is signed by the Fourth Deputy Mayor, Eladio Buzo Corzo, in exercise of the powers delegated by the Mayor via Decree of February 2, 2024, published in the BOP of Badajoz number 28, dated February 8.

The call represents a significant opportunity for career civil servants of the Local Police from other administrations who wish to join the Badajoz workforce, as well as a reinforcement of the police force of the Extremaduran capital within the framework of its stabilization and public employment mobility policy.
