Por FactBox Admin

The Badajoz City Council has definitively approved a budget modification file that sets the municipal budget for the 2026 fiscal year at 237,382,222.98 euros. The decision, adopted by the Most Excellent Plenary Council on July 23, 2026, was made public through announcement 3351/2026 in the Official Gazette of the Province of Badajoz on August 24, 2026.

As no objections were filed against the file, the budget remains open to public inspection once the approved modification has been introduced, in accordance with the provisions of article 169.3 of Royal Legislative Decree 2/2004, of March 5, which approves the Recast Text of the Law Regulating Local Treasuries.

The approved modification

The file combines two types of budgetary adjustments processed simultaneously:

  • Extraordinary credits numbers 010/2026/6, 010/2026/7, and 010/2026/8.
  • Credit supplements numbers 020/2026/1 and 020/2026/2.

The operation is part of the ordinary management of the municipal accounts of the capital of Badajoz, which uses these instruments to address expenditure needs not initially foreseen or to expand existing items.

The budget by chapters

The expenditure status of the municipal budget is distributed across the following total credits:

  • Personnel expenses: €63,281,470.88.

Signature and publication

The announcement is digitally signed by the Acting Mayor, José Antonio Casablanca del Barco, in Badajoz, as of the date of the digital signature. The publication in the official gazette publicizes the final budget and opens the period for consultation by the citizenry.

The definitive approval of this modification reinforces the economic management capacity of the Badajoz City Council for the remainder of the 2026 fiscal year, providing legal coverage for the new credits and supplements. For the residents of the provincial capital, the document establishes the reference framework for municipal public resources and the items that will finance services and investments during the current year.
