Azuqueca de Henares finally approves 2026 extraordinary credit

The Azuqueca de Henares City Council has completed the procedure for the final approval of the Credit Supplement and Extraordinary Credit 1/2026, after confirming that no claims were submitted during the fifteen business days of public exposure to which the file was subjected. The agreement is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Guadalajara, issue 156, corresponding to Monday, August 17, 2026, and is hereby elevated to final status in accordance with current regulations on local government finances.

The council’s decision falls within the powers attributed to municipalities to address financing needs that exceed the initial projections of the annual budget. Azuqueca de Henares, the regional capital and most populous municipality in the province of Guadalajara, manages one of the most significant municipal treasuries in the region, making this credit operation a relevant milestone for the fiscal planning of the current year.

Procedure and background of the file

The file for the Credit Supplement and Extraordinary Credit 1/2026 was initially announced in Official Gazette of the Province of Guadalajara issue 136, published on July 20, 2026. From that date, the document remained exposed to the public for the legally established period of fifteen business days, with no claims registered by interested parties.

The absence of objections allows the Azuqueca de Henares City Council to conclude the procedure and elevate the agreement to final status, without the need to remedy or modify the conditions initially approved by the municipal corporation.

The final approval of the extraordinary credit is based on articles 169 and 177 of Royal Legislative Decree 2/2004, of March 5, which approves the consolidated text of the Law Regulating Local Government Finances. This regulation governs the procedures for creating extraordinary credits and credit supplements in local entities, establishing the publication, public exposure, and appeal procedures that must be followed.

Against the final approval, persons and entities legitimized under article 171 of the aforementioned consolidated text may file a contentious-administrative appeal within two months from the publication of this notice in the official gazette. The agreement was signed in Azuqueca de Henares on August 13, 2026, by the mayor, Mr. Miguel Óscar Aparicio de Lucas.

Availability of the document

The complete file is available to interested parties at the electronic headquarters of the Azuqueca de Henares City Council, enabled on the council’s transparency platform. Electronic access allows citizens and professionals to consult the details of the credit supplement and the extraordinary credit without having to travel to municipal offices.
