Azuaga announces four music teacher positions via competitive examination

Por FactBox Admin

The Azuaga City Council has announced four vacancies for Music Teacher under a permanent seasonal employment regime, through a competitive examination system, for the specialties of piano, flute, guitar, and horn. The rules are published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Badajoz number 158, dated August 19, 2026, and open a application period of 20 business days.

The calls for applications were approved by Mayoral decree no. 2026/750, dated August 13, and are part of the public employment offer for the 2026 fiscal year, approved by Mayoral resolution no. 2026/300, dated April 15. Each of the four positions corresponds to the Culture Area of the council, with a professional category of Group B of the Collective Agreement.

The four announced positions

The rules, identical in structure, are published in four separate announcements, one per specialty:

  • Piano Music Teacher (announcement 3270/2026).
  • Flute Music Teacher (announcement 3268/2026).
  • Guitar Music Teacher (announcement 3269/2026).
  • Horn Music Teacher (announcement 3271/2026).

Each call provides for a single full-time vacancy with a permanent seasonal contract. The remuneration and working hours will be those established in the Collective Agreement for the labor personnel of the Azuaga City Council and other applicable provisions.

Requirements and selection process

To participate, it is necessary to have Spanish nationality or that of a member state of the European Union, possess the functional capacity to perform the tasks, be at least sixteen years old and not exceed the compulsory retirement age, and not have been dismissed from the service of any public administration. Additionally, it is required to hold a Professional Degree or Higher Degree in the specialty applied for, or equivalent qualifications, and to have paid the examination fee.

The process consists of two phases:

  • Examination (Oposición), with two eliminatory tests held on the same day: a multiple-choice test of 40 questions on common and specific subjects, and a practical performance test of a mandatory work.
  • Competition (Concurso), which accounts for a maximum of 20% of the total score, assessing training and claimed merits.

Submission of applications

Applications shall be addressed to the Mayor-President of the City Council and may be submitted at the General Electronic Registry of the council or at the locations provided for in article 16.4 of Law 39/2015, of October 1, on the Common Administrative Procedure. The deadline is 20 business days counting from the day following the publication of the announcement in the Official State Gazette, where an extract of the call will be inserted.

The full guidelines are disseminated in the Official Gazette of the Province, on the City Council’s electronic office (https://sede.azuaga.es), and on the notice board. After the deadline closes, the Mayor’s Office will publish the provisional list of admitted and excluded candidates within a maximum period of one month, with ten business days allowed for corrections.

The call for applications represents a significant opportunity for musicians and teachers from the Campiña Sur region, who may apply for a stable position in the municipality’s cultural area. With these four positions, the Azuaga City Council reinforces its music teaching staff under a permanent seasonal contract, consolidating the town’s educational offering.
