The Azpeitia City Council has approved the 2026 public employment offer with three resolutions

Azpeitia City Council has approved the Public Employment Offer for the year 2026 through three mayoral decrees, as announced in issue number 185 of the Official Gazette of the Basque Country (BOPV) on September 28, 2026. The decrees were approved on January 22, April 30, and August 19, and were published in issues 41, 83, and 167 of the Official Gazette of Gipuzkoa. The official announcement carries the reference 2026/4018 and was signed on September 10 by the Mayor of Azpeitia, Nagore Alkorta Elorza.

The Public Employment Offer is the planning tool used by each municipality to determine the positions to be filled throughout the year. Azpeitia City Council published the notice in the “Authorities and Personnel” section, under the “Oppositions and Competitions” subsection, specifying that the offer was closed in three stages: the initial approval and two subsequent expansions.

The notice is neither a call for applications nor a set of regulations: it has been published for the general knowledge of all citizens and does not open any application period. The calls for selection processes will come later, based on the positions included in the offer.

Three decrees and two expansions

The offer was not closed at a single moment. The municipal government linked three mayoral decrees, the last of which was in August. This means that the council adjusted the initially planned list of positions throughout the year.

• Mayoral decree of August 19: Second expansion.

The three decrees were signed in the name of the mayor, and the final notice was dated September 10, in Azpeitia itself. They are identified in the BOPV with the reference 2026/4018.

Offers from local entities are first published in the territorial gazette and subsequently in the official gazette of the Basque Autonomous Community. In this case, the three decrees were included in the Official Gazette of Gipuzkoa, and the BOPV reported them in the September 28 issue.

This chain is not coincidental: publication in the territorial gazette ensures that interested parties have the information locally, and the BOPV provides autonomous dissemination.

The offer is the starting point: the positions included in it will be the basis for future calls and competitive examinations. Therefore, the content and expansions of the offer are important for those wishing to work in the municipal administration.

The fact that it was expanded three times shows that the council identified new needs throughout the year. This will have an impact on the selection calls in the coming months, and interested parties who considered the initial list to be final will need to take this into account.
