Aznalcóllar announces three Local Police vacancies via open competitive examination

The Aznalcóllar City Council has announced three Local Police positions to be filled as career civil servants, through the open access system and the competitive examination selection procedure. The call was approved by Mayoral Resolution number 342/2026, of August 26, 2026, signed by the Mayor-President, Juan José Fernández Garrido, and published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Seville number 171, of September 3, 2026.
The positions, all of which are vacant in the municipal staff, are classified under the Special Administration Scale, Special Services Subscale, Police Category of the Local Police Corps, and result from the 2025 Public Employment Offer. The processed file is 2026/OEP_01/000003, under the procedure “Call and Selection Tests for Local Police.”
Characteristics of the positions
The three positions are assigned to the Basic Scale and, in accordance with Law 6/2023, of July 7, on Local Police of Andalusia, they are transitionally classified in Group C, Subgroup C1, reporting to the Department of Citizen Security. The call provides that the positions may be expanded with future vacancies that occur during 2026 and are approved by a Public Employment Offer.

Requirements and applications
Applicants must meet, before the last day for submitting applications, requirements such as possessing Spanish nationality, being 18 years of age, passing the medical examination and the physical, psychotechnical, and knowledge tests, and providing proof of the regulatory driving permits. A commitment to remain for five years as a career civil servant in the Local Police Corps of Aznalcóllar is also required.
Applications shall be submitted within twenty calendar days from the day following the publication of the call in the Official State Gazette, at the General Registry of the City Council or through its Electronic Office. The examination fees amount to 66.57 euros, payable by deposit into the Santander account indicated in the rules.
Competitive examination phase
The competitive examination phase, which is eliminatory in nature, consists of five tests:
- Knowledge (theoretical): multiple-choice questionnaire of 80 questions with four alternative answers, in 60 minutes; only the top 40 pass.
- Physical fitness: tests described in the Order of December 22, 2003 of the Ministry of Governance, graded as fit or unfit.
- Psychotechnical assessment: evaluation of aptitudes, attitudes, and personality, including a personal interview.
- Knowledge (practical case): written resolution in 90 minutes, with a minimum of 5 points to pass.
- Medical examination: subject to the table of medical exclusions.
Those who pass the competitive examination must complete the entry course at the Institute of Emergencies and Public Safety of Andalusia (IESPA) or at accredited police schools. The rules also provide for compensatory economic measures in the event of resignation before completing five years of service, with amounts of 30,000 euros (first three years), 20,000 euros (fourth year), and 10,000 euros (before appointment).
