Teguise City Council announces 190,000 euros in festive and sociocultural grants

Calls for 190,000 euros for the associative fabric of Teguise

The Mayor-President of Teguise City Council, Olivia Duque Pérez, has signed two resolutions dated 13 August 2026 announcing grants for associations, non-profit entities and Carnival groups of the oldest municipality in Lanzarote. The calls were published as announcements 2,740 and 2,741 in the Official Gazette of the Province of Las Palmas number 98, of Monday 17 August 2026, with a combined credit of 190,000 euros.

Both calls are framed within the General Grants Ordinance of Teguise City Council, whose regulatory bases were published in the B.O.P. of Las Palmas number 78, of 30 June 2025. The issuing body applies articles 17.3.b and 20.8.a of Law 38/2003, of 17 November, General Grants as the legal basis.

Grants for socio-cultural centres: 90,000 euros

The first call (reference 1,723,866, BDNS 925001) allocates 90,000 euros to grants for socio-cultural centres. It is aimed at associations and non-profit entities that carry out leisure and festive activities in the socio-cultural centres of the municipality, provided they have their registered office in the town of the municipal area where the project or activity is developed.

  • Purpose: Activities, projects, supplies and/or services of the centre’s annual programme, of public utility or social interest in the municipality of Teguise.
  • Total amount: 90,000 euros.
  • Application deadline: Ten working days from the publication of the extract in the B.O.P. of Las Palmas (i.e., from 18 August 2026).
  • Identifier in the National Grants Database: BDNS 925001.

The second call (reference 1,724,109, BDNS 925006) reserves 100,000 euros for the promotion of festivities and popular events, as well as for Carnival associations and groups. The beneficiaries are non-profit entities that carry out leisure and festive activities within the municipal calendar of festivities of the different towns of the municipality, as well as groups participating in Carnival festivities.

  • Purpose: Leisure and festive projects and activities of the annual programme, of public utility or social interest in the municipality of Teguise, including popular celebrations of the municipal calendar and participation in Carnival.
  • Total amount: 100,000 euros.
  • Application deadline: Ten working days from 1 September 2026.
  • Identifier in the National Grants Database: BDNS 925006.

Both calls are governed by their own regulatory bases included in the General Grants Ordinance of the Teguise City Council (Official Gazette of the Province of Las Palmas, number 78, of 30 June 2025). The two calls together amount to a total of 190,000 euros aimed at supporting the festive and sociocultural activity of a municipality whose associative density and wealth of popular celebrations are a distinctive feature within the island of Lanzarote. The publication of these funding lines allows entities in Teguise to access public financing to carry out their annual programming, strengthening the community fabric and the cultural life of the different towns within the municipal area.
