Onda City Council appoints three new local police officers

The Onda City Council has made public the appointment of three officers as career civil servants of its Local Police, as stated in Official Bulletin of the Province of Castellón number 98, corresponding to August 15, 2026. The three resolutions of the Mayor’s Office, all dated July 10, 2026, grant those appointed the status of career civil servants in police officer positions, belonging to the Special Administration Scale, Special Services Subscale, class Local Police and its auxiliaries, group C, subgroup C1.

The publication of the notice complies with the legal obligation to make the appointments of career civil servants known to the public, as required by both Royal Legislative Decree 5/2015 (Consolidated Text of the Law on the Basic Statute of Public Employees) and Law 4/2021, of April 16, of the Generalitat, on Valencian Public Service. The notice is published under reference number 03700-2026-U.

The three appointed officers

The appointments were made to the following individuals, according to the three individual resolutions issued by the mayor:

• Marco Juan Casas — appointed by Mayor’s Office Resolution number 2336, of July 10, 2026.
• Rubén Robles Esteve — appointed by Mayor’s Office Resolution number 2335, of July 10, 2026.
• Carlos González Navarro — appointed by Mayor’s Office Resolution number 2337, of July 10, 2026.

All of them acquire the status of career civil servants in subgroup C1 of the Local Police, the category corresponding to officers with a Compulsory Secondary Education (ESO) graduate qualification or equivalent who pass the corresponding selection tests.

Legal framework of the appointments

The procedure is supported by two key regulations governing public employment in Spain and in the Valencian Community:

• Article 62.1.b of Royal Legislative Decree 5/2015, which establishes the mandatory publicity of appointments of career civil servants.
• Article 68.1.b of Law 4/2021, of April 16, of the Generalitat, on Valencian Public Service, which transfers this obligation to the Valencian regional scope.

Both regulations require that appointments be made public in the corresponding official bulletin to guarantee transparency and the rights of those concerned.

A reinforced police force

The appointment of these three new officers represents a reinforcement of the police staffing of the municipality of Onda, a town of more than 24,000 inhabitants located in the region of Alto Mijares (Castellón). The incorporation of career civil servants —as opposed to interim or trainee officers— confers stability on the service and guarantees continuity in the provision of the public safety service.

The mayor, Carmen Ballester Feliu, signed and dated the announcement in Onda on August 13, 2026, two days before its publication in the official provincial bulletin.
